Caerphilly - Cozy cottage Mynyddislwyn
Description
Nestling in the rolling Welsh hills, lies a cosy 2 bedroomed cottage. Unwind in front of the wood burner or relax outside with a glass of wine, watching the sun sink slowly over the horizon, listening to the sounds of the countryside. Spend a peaceful night, with only the bark of the foxes or the hoot of owls, and awake to the sound of birdsong, looking out of the window at distant views of Pen-y-Fan and the Brecon Beacons. Enjoy the views whilst planning next adventure. The space This is a compact cosy cottage. "The Stables" is situated on a quiet mountain top, secluded, yet only 15 minutes from the M4 junction. It is the perfect destination to unwind, exploring further afield during the day, then return to the peace and tranquillity of the exposed-beamed cottage. Snuggle up on a sofa, with cushions and sumptuous throws, and enjoy the flickering of the wood burning stove at the end of the day. Or fire up the BBQ, pour a glass of wine and sit in the private garden, watching your dog chase their tail whilst the sun goes down. It is in a perfect location to use as a base for exploring South Wales and the wider area. It is situated 30 mins from Cardiff, with plenty of attractions. The market towns of Abergavenny, Monmouth, Brecon, Cowbridge, Chepstow and Usk are approximately 1 hour by car. There are many castles in the surrounding area - Cardiff, Caerphilly, Raglan, Chepstow, & Castell Coch. Cardiff has 2 main museums - one in central Cardiff and The National Museum of History situated in St Fagans. St Fagans is a wonderful, place to explore with many attractions, set in extensive grounds. There are also many beaches with 1 hour's drive - Penarth, Portcawl, Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown. The farm itself is situated in 13 acres which you are able to explore. There are 5 big horses on the farm so please be mindful of their space when walking through the fields; they are very nosey and will want to greet you, as will the dogs. You will be able to walk through the fields with your dog but please keep on a lead whilst near neighbouring livestock. The farm is situated on a footpath and there are many beautiful walks directly from the farm itself. There is a local pub which serves good food, a gentle 15 minute walk away. 1 well behaved dog allowed, but not must be left alone in the cottage (unless crated). Our farm is located on a bridlepath and also has access to the forestry and neighbouring mountain. Horses can come and stay with their owners for a holiday. Good turnout, stabling/bedding and feed included in price. Please message for more details. Perfect for keen mountain bikers. Storage and wash-down facilities for bikes available. Guest access We are situated next door and will always try to help, preferably within daylight hours, unless there is an emergency! There is ample secure parking in front of the house. Shopping - due to the lack of Deliveroo type services because of the locality, we are able to provide basic shopping if 24 hour notice is given. Payment for this service would be directly to the Host in cash. Alternatively, you can arrange a supermarket delivery which we would be happy to receive on your behalf and refrigerate as necessary. Other things to note There is a pub that serves good food at reasonable prices 5 minutes away by car or a leisurely stroll of 15/20 minutes. Please be aware that the pub is not dog friendly and operates a cash only policy. If you want to combine a pub visit with a walk, the Maenllwyd in Rudry would be the best option. Next door we have Puzzletree Alpacas, where you can book to walk the alpacas. This can be booked directly or though myself (the price remains the same either way). A mile away is the Sirhowy Country Park with beautiful walks for dogs, and their humans. This can be accessed either by driving to the park, 10 minutes, or, if adventurous, you can take a circular walk from the farm. The area is great for mountain biking. There is a barn to store bikes and access to a hose for washing down.
