Gaonvasi is for travelers who seek peace, nature, meaningful experiences, mindful travel, and the beauty of slow living. The space We promote mindful and budget travelling, especially for people who wish to spend longer periods in the mountains without the rush of commercial tourism. Many guests arrive for a few days and end up extending their stay simply because the place begins to feel like home. Know Your Booking : We offer two cozy rooms on a sharing basis with three separate single beds in each, suitable for solo travellers, backpackers, hikers, remote workers, artists, and long-stay travellers. The rooms are simple, warm, and comfortable designed more around experience and feeling than luxury aesthetics. The rooms open towards beautiful mountain and valley views. We have two common/shared washrooms (Western/Indian) with hot water facilities, thoughtfully maintained and cleaned regularly throughout the day, including during guests’ stays. Extra blankets are always available for added comfort, and room heaters can be arranged during colder months on additional charges. The property also has common sitting spaces (veranda, garden, and terrace) where guests often spend time reading, journaling, working remotely, playing music, sharing stories, or simply doing nothing. Meals : Fresh home-cooked vegetarian meals are available at the homestay. A wholesome breakfast is included in your booking tariff. One freshly prepared dish is served each morning from our fixed breakfast menu. Other meals, tea, and snacks can be ordered separately from our menu according to your preference. Prepared in our family kitchen, the food is simply delicious, and served with warmth and care. Important to Know : The final path from the parking area to the property is just a short 10–20 step walk through a natural mountain setting. The path is not paved, but it is easy to walk and not steep. Luggage carrying/offloading services are not provided by us. The veranda is a cozy shared space for relaxing with a cup of tea while enjoying views of the Himalayan peaks, including Srikanth and Gangotri I. The garden area is perfect for enjoying seasonal flowers, Himalayan flora and fauna, and quiet moments close to nature, while at night it becomes a peaceful space for stargazing under the mountain sky. The terrace is ideal for yoga, meditation, bird watching, sunrise views, and peaceful Himalayan evenings surrounded by the mountains. Other things to note Other Details to Note : - We also organize the Dayara Bugyal trek, Gidara Bugyal trek, Tapovan, Kedartal and other nearby Himalayan treks with an experienced local team. . The nearest local shops and small market area are approximately 5–6 km away, so we recommend carrying personal essentials in advance. . As this is a small family-run mountain home, driver accommodation facilities are not available. .
