Welcome to Old Cottage - a delightful thatched cottage, oozing charm and character, located just one minute walk to the beach in Crackington Haven, near Bude. Sleeps 6 guests and your four-legged friend to enjoy a slice of the enticing North Cornish coast. It is HEAVEN! The space Old Cottage’s slate-roof porch leads into a cosy sitting room with an inglenook-style fireplace, wood-burning stove, characterful beams and colourful cushions and rugs. There are two large comfortable sofas either side of the room - an ideal spot to cosy up on chilly evenings or to collapse into after a busy day hiking, surfing, swimming ++! There is a smart TV and plenty of boardgames. The gallery kitchen and dining area are open plan and to one end of the sitting room (separated by the open staircase.) There’s a wooden dining table with benches and chairs. The ‘country-cottage’ kitchen is fully equipped and has a new granite work surface, butlers sink, cooker and microwave. (The washing machine and dryer are in an outdoor utility room.) Original wooden stairs lead up to three light and airy bedrooms, all refurbished and in keeping with the original wooden floors, deliciously wonky beams and doors. The two double bedrooms and one twin room have been decorated with a modern twist to this still very traditional coastal cottage. There is a newly refurbished, modern bathroom with a WC and over-the-bath shower. Outside there is a small garden with a paved area with a bench, table and chairs that look down the lane to the sea. A truly zen spot to relax and watch the gentle sunrises and legendary Crackington sunsets over Cambeak cliff. When you return from the beach there is an outdoor hot shower - great for rinsing off wetsuits, sandy feet, and the dog! A further WC/utility area is accessed from the outside with ample storage for beach gear ++. Guest access Ground Floor: Sitting Room - with two comfortable sofas and a log burner/fire place. Dining Area - with dining table and benches seating 6 guests. Gallery Kitchen - An electric oven, electric hot plates, under-counter fridge, microwave, dishwasher. First Floor: Bedroom One - two 3' twin single beds Bedroom Two - 4'6 double bed Bedroom Three - 4'6 double bed Modern family bathroom - with bath and shower over, wash basin and WC. Outside: Small garden with lovely seating area with bench, table and chairs. Outdoor hot shower. Utility Room: WC, freezer, washing machine and tumble. dryer. Garage for one standard size car. (Passes for additional car in nearby carpark.) Other things to note There is a single garage next to the house, which fits one standard-sized car. A free pass is given for a second car to park in the nearby parish car park. One dog is welcome at a small additional fee. Peak season changeover day is on Friday. Bed linen and towels included, though please remember to bring your own beach towels. Pls note there is no cot or highchair in this property. Due to the character of this historic cottage, there is some uneven flooring, low beams and steep stairs, so may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
