Surrounded by whispering paperbarks, native bushland and the peacefully calm waters of the lake, providing the perfect blend of romance and tranquility. Once a functioning church, the building has been lovingly relocated and transformed into a cosy and romantic hideout, offering breathtakingly beautiful lake views through the large arc windows. The space The Church On The Lake offers comfort, cosiness and romance all in one. Inside the expansive open-plan living area, where high ceilings, grand arched windows, and French doors flood the space with natural light you will find a luxurious king bed, dressed in soft linens and perfectly positioned for stargazing through the large windows. Prepare simple meals in the well-equipped kitchenette or take your cooking outdoors with the portable BBQ. The bathroom area includes a spacious shower with tranquil views of the bush, plus a separate toilet for added convenience. There is a dining table, ideal for sun-soaked breakfasts and candlelit dinners. The laundry area features both a washing machine and dryer. You will also find a fire extinguisher and first aid kit here. Outside, the magic truly unfolds. The expansive deck is the perfect place to sink into the big, comfy chairs, gathering around the crackling outdoor fire, and soak in uninterrupted lake views. Whether you're stargazing in stillness or sharing stories with a glass in hand, this tranquil space invites you to slow down, breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy all nature has to offer. Venture a little further toward the lake and you’ll discover ‘Mim’s Rest’ – a hidden picnic spot nestled in the bush, right on the water’s edge. Please note both the fire pit and the lake area are shared spaces, as there is another short-term rental on the property—Stillwater On The Lake, which sleeps six guests and is located to the right when coming up the driveway. We kindly ask that you be considerate of other guests who may be staying at the same time and share these facilities respectfully. The driveway is also used by other guests staying on the land so you may see passing vehicles from time to time. Other things to note Please enjoy the fire pit and outdoor fire on the deck with care. Feel free to use the wood provided. Please be very mindful that the surrounding bush can become very dry in the QLD heat. At times there will be a fire ban to avoid a bushfire breakout. We are a pet friendly property and allow one pet only to accompany you on your stay. We do ask that all pets, no matter what size are kept off of the furniture and out of the beds. We have an additional cleaning fee of $200 should the above not be adhered to. Please note there is no Wifi in the property. This is allow you to switch off and enjoy a digital detox.
