With a fully equipped open plan kitchen and living area, bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite shower room it has everything you need for a countryside retreat. Recharge and reconnect with long slow breakfasts or cosy nights in. Enjoy lying in the hammock between the apple trees, or soak up the view whilst dining on the patio. Set in a private orchard surrounded by nature yet accessible to amenities, your cosy cabin is perfect for a relaxing break. Designed for slow mornings, quiet evenings and reconnecting, spend time in nature amongst the apple trees, listen to the tawny owls at night, gaze at the stars. Slow down and recharge. As you enter The Apple Shed, you’ll find a warm and welcoming space with rustic modern decor. The open plan kitchen and living area has everything you need to cook up a feast, with an induction hob and oven, fridge with small freezer, kettle and toaster. Indulge in your culinary delights at the breakfast bar whilst spotting wildlife in the orchard, or on balmy nights enjoy alfresco dining on the patio. Sink into the sofa with a hot cuppa or a chilled drink to watch TV or browse one of the local guidebooks to plan your Devon adventures. Take a book outside to read whilst swinging in the hammock between the apple trees. Make memories chatting around the fire pit on warmer evenings. And when you’re ready to snuggle down, head to the bedroom where a handcrafted king-size bed with comfortable mattress and quality bedding awaits you to ensure you get a dreamy sleep. Adjoining the bedroom is the en-suite shower room with fluffy towels and eco-conscious toiletries for you to use. Being on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, The Apple Shed is tucked away yet perfectly placed to explore Dartmoor National Park with its magnificent tors, medieval villages, wooded valleys and stannary towns. Fingle Bridge, Castle Drogo, Mardon Down and Chagford are all within a stone’s throw away, as is central Exeter being just a 15-minute drive. It’s also an ideal base to explore Devon’s varied coastline: 30 minutes to the Jurassic coast, 40-45 minutes to the English Riviera of Torquay, Babbacombe and Brixham and an hour to the gorgeous coast and countryside of South Devon and wild, rugged North Devon and Cornwall coastlines. There are too many wonderful beaches, coves, seaside towns and cultural attractions to list here so come and explore it all for yourselves! When you book, you’ll receive a detailed Welcome Information Document providing recommendations on beaches, attractions, pubs, restaurants and more. Other things to note: Kitchen: Tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk will be available. If you require different milk, please let us know before you arrive. Oil, salt, pepper and a range of spices will also be available. Lounge: Small Smart TV in the lounge (personal log in required for Netflix, Disney Plus etc; wi-fi available). A selection of games, books, maps and local guides are available for you to use. Toiletries: Eco-conscious soap, handwash, shampoo and conditioner are all provided. Towels & Bedding: Bath, hand and hair towels provided. Egyptian cotton and linen/cotton blend bedding aims to ensure you have a dreamy sleep. Heating: There is an electric radiator in both the open plan kitchen/living area and the bedroom (temperature adjustable), as well as a heated towel radiator in the bathroom. Please note: There is no washing machine or iron in the cabin. Hairdryer available. Guest access The Apple Shed forms part of our property, although it sits completely separately in its own orchard, adjacent to our garden. To access the Apple Shed, walk through the gate to the side of Bramleys where you park. You’ll need to walk across the driveway and then up six steps on the edge of our garden, through a small gate in the fence-line and up an inclined pathway (30m) to reach the cabin. The path will be lit at night with solar lanterns. An aerial map of the layout of The Apple Shed in relation to Bramleys and surrounding properties will be provided. Other things to note To access the Apple Shed, you will need to walk through the gate to the side of our house where you park, which is an allocated guest parking space on our drive within a shared private courtyard with three other properties. You’ll need to walk up six steps at the edge of our garden, through a small gate in the fence-line and up an inclined pathway (30m) to reach the cabin. The path will be lit at night with solar lanterns. Our garden is adjacent to the orchard which we use as a family. The space is private, but we will be on hand if needed and we enjoy meeting our guests.
