The Stables, at The Dove House, Shrewsbury.

The Stables, is a self contained annex to our barn conversation. This cosy, romantic couples retreat, is nestled in a green oasis of countryside, overlooking fields and gardens. The Shropshire Way, public footpath awaits, as you step outside into the garden, ready for you to explore the breathtaking, beautiful countryside. The annex is Situated just outside Shrewsbury in a scenic and quaint hamlet, called Astley. The space The Stables, offers an intimate, cosy atmosphere, with its warm and graceful interior. The main open plan living area of the annex, houses the king sized bed, a snuggly sofa, and a romantic table for two. Step down into the individual, unique bathroom, and relax in the old rustic terracotta bath (originally from Bedstone College) or take a shower. The small, bespoke little kitchen houses a fridge, kettle, toaster, and air fryer and microwave. The closet has plenty of space to hang your clothes, with an ironing board and extra throws and pillows, should you need them. Enjoy your break, snuggled up on the bed, or cuddle on the couch, whilst watching a movie on the wall mounted TV, which has access to Netflix and free view. Outside you have your own small garden space to enjoy the views, complete with a garden bench to watch the sunset in the evening. There is plenty of space to park your car next to the annex. In the morning, why not spoil yourself, only a few minutes drive away, you can indulge yourself at Battlefield 1403 cafe, for a delicious breakfast. And in the evening try some fabulous local eateries, including the highly recommended ‘The Croft restaurant’ around the corner. Shrewsbury is only a 10 minute drive to the centre, a mediaeval town, step back in time and wonder around the cobbled streets and admire the most beautiful architecture. The town is renowned for it’s array of independent retail boutiques, amazing eateries and coffee shops. The space The Stables is a real ‘home from home’ where you can relax after your day exploring the county. The space is open plan, with a cosy atmosphere, kingsize bed, comfortable sofa, table for two for dining, and a flat screen tv mounted on the wall. There is a small separate kitchenette which includes a fridge, kettle, toaster, air fryer, and a microwave. Please note that there is NO oven or hob. The charming bathroom has an original antique terracotta bath from Bedstone college, and there is also a walk in shower. The closet room has extra throws, ironing board, iron and a hairdryer. Also a hanging close rail and hangers, for your clothes. Decorated with old and new pieces of furniture, fixtures and fittings makes it a welcoming space with charm, warmth and comfort. We provide tea, coffee and sugar with a pint of fresh semi skimmed milk. Please let us know when booking, if you require a different milk, and we will endeavour to source some. There is an under counter fridge in the kitchen, where you can store chilled food and drinks. Also included is a welcome gesture basket with a few goodies, to make your stay that bit more pleasurable. All bed linen and bathroom towels are freshly laundered for your stay. Free Wi-Fi is provided, the password will be provided on arrival. We have a Freeview TV, with Netflix, and Prime video streaming included. The stable’s is a separate part of our home, with its own front door, and parking, making loading/unloading of your possessions easy. The entrance door key will be handed to you on your arrival by the host. Other things to note We do not have a charging point for an electric vehicle and we do not allow our domestic supply to be used for this purpose. There are several public charging points within a very short drive. The Stables can sleep a maximum of 2 people. If you are booking for friend or colleague, please do let us know when making your booking. There are regular buses to and from Shrewsbury, available in Hadnall, which is a 15 minute walk away. Local taxi services are also available. Guests need to be aware that there is a step into the annex from outside, and the bathroom and kitchen, both have two steps down into the rooms. No burning of candles. No burning of incense or josticks. No naked flames. No dogs / pets are permitted. No smoking or vaping inside the property.
