Church Cottage
Description
Tucked away in the village of Halstead, near Sevenoaks, Church Cottage is a charming and deceptively spacious holiday let full of character and warmth. From the outside, this flint-fronted cottage is irresistibly cute, with traditional features that hint at its rich history. Step inside and you’ll be surprised by just how generous the space is. With low ceilings (under 6 foot in height), original details and a cosy yet light and airy feel. The space As you arrive at Church Cottage, you’ll find free on-street parking right outside, making access easy and convenient. Step through the front door and you’re greeted by the cosy lounge area, complete with comfortable sofas—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the Kent countryside. From the lounge, an arched opening leads through to the kitchen. This is a charming space with everything you need to cook up a storm! The kitchen also features a lovely kitchen table where everyone can sit and enjoy meals together. Beyond the kitchen lies the beautiful garden room, filled with light and decorated with leafy plants and greenery, creating a peaceful, indoor-outdoor feel. At the far end, French doors open out into a private, walled courtyard garden with a sun-drenched patio and garden furniture—perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. Back inside, head upstairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a spacious family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a traditional antique roll-top bath (the roll top bath is 100 years old and has all the character you would expect to find in such a beautiful old object). Next door is a separate toilet. Two charming double bedrooms (sleeping two adults each) are also located on this floor, both offering good storage with cupboards and shelving. On the top floor, there are two further bedrooms—one generously sized double room with ample storage, sleeping two adults and a cosy single room that sleeps one adult. The layout of Church Cottage has been carefully considered to balance comfort, character and practicality, making it a delightful retreat for families or groups of friends. Other things to note This is a very old cottage dating back over 400 years. In some places, downstairs, the ceiling height is low, in keeping with an historic property of this age.
