Annexe with pool in Allington, Pewsey Vale

The Little House annexe is a wonderful retreat to explore the stunning surrounding area (AONB) on foot or bike from your doorstep. A light and charming self-contained one-bedroom annexe with own entrance and parking. Close to historic market towns of Devizes and Marlborough, Stonehenge and Avebury. The space The light self-contained annexe (attached to the house but separate entrance) consists of a spacious sitting room with a cosy wood burner. We can provide a basket of logs. Stairs lead up to the large bedroom and shower room. The sitting room has two comfortable sofas, television and plenty of books. There is a small table and two dining chairs for inside or outside use. Summer cooking is on a bbq with an accompanying fire pit. Tea and coffee facilities, small fridge and microwave oven for making easy meals (not a proper kitchen) are in an alcove in the sitting room. There is a barbecue for your exclusive use. We’ll provide the tea, coffee and basics such as salt/pepper/olive oil. We’ll also be delighted to provide continental breakfast. Facilities in family utility room for washing up, or can be left outside for us to collect. WiFi. Self Check In. Use of the pool on request. Doors lead onto the pool area from the sitting room. I am sorry we are unable to accept guests with dogs. Guest access There will be a keybox at the outside door entrance. Other things to note The Annexe is privately situated in the hamlet of Allington in the Vale of Pewsey in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills, white horses carved into the hills, charming villages. There is a vast network of walking and cycling routes to explore from your doorstep, with amazing views of the neolithic landscape. The ancient Savernake Forest is only 15 minutes drive with stunning walks and bike rides. The Kennet & Avon canal is 5 mins walk from the annexe. Here you can follow the canal path by foot, or take a barge to explore the area (available in nearby Devizes). Devizes has an excellent market, Marlborough likewise on Wednesday and Saturday. There is a Waitrose and Tesco in Marlborough; a Lidl and Morrisons in Devizes. We are well served with excellent cosy pubs and restaurants and we'd be delighted to share suggestions with you in advance of your stay. Pewsey station is 15 minutes, with fast trains to London Paddington (1hr) and the South West. Tourist attractions include Avebury (15 mins), and Stonehenge (35 mins), the cities of Bath and Salisbury (60 mins each), Bowood House and gardens (25 mins) and Lacock Abbey (30 mins). Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) is nearby too (50 mins).
