Perfectly located with incredible sea views and amazing facilities our private family beach house in Jakkalsfontein Nature Reserve is ideal for a holiday escape. Enjoy tranquility, long beach walks, nature trails, mountain biking, a pool & tennis courts at the reserve's resort centre and much more. Jakkalsfontein is just 75kms from centre of Cape Town - an incredible fynbos reserve home to over 500 plant, bird and small antelope species. Come loose yourself in this small piece of paradise. The space 88 Sunbird is comprised of two semi-attached homes (88 Sunbird - Table Mountain Facing and 88 Sunbird - Sea Facing). This unit (88 Sunbird Table Mountain Facing) sleeps 6 people. There are two bedrooms downstairs with double beds and en suite bathrooms (both with showers) and one bedroom upstairs with two single beds and an en suite bathroom (with both a shower and bath which looks out over Table Mountain). The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge is fully equipped for your convenience. The kitchen has all the amenities we have anticipated that you may need including a washer, dryer, gas stove, regular oven and two big fridges with freezers. This unit shares the central courtyard with the Sea Facing unit but also has its own private courtyard. From this unit you can enjoy views over the fynbos out to Table Mountain or the sea, or you can tuck up inside with DSTV. Larger groups of seven or more may want to book both units which will collectively sleep ten people. There are two parking spaces available in front of the garage. Please be considerate of your neighbours who may need to share on-street parking with you. Please note that Jakkalsfontein relies on borehole water for drinking (which is perfectly clean and safe, but does taste a bit different), so do bring some bottled or drinking water from home if you can spare it! Guest access The Jakkalsfontein Nature Reserve is available to be explored, and is full of beautiful walking, jogging and cycling trails through the fynbos, not to mention the beach which makes for lovely walks. Given that the estate is a reserve please be sure to stick to designated vehicle and pedestrian paths and to avoid walking on the sand dunes at all times. The nearby communal resort centre in the reserve is home to the swimming pool, tennis and squash courts as well as braai facilities and is available to you throughout your stay. Please note that the garage at 88 Sunbird Street is not available to guests. Please also be mindful of your neighbours in the adjacent unit in terms of noise levels and sharing the communal courtyard. Other things to note Connectivity: There is no WIFI at 88 Sunbird and phone reception is limited - making this an ideal place to get away and disconnect! Access: Jakkalsfontein Nature Reserve is located on the R27/West Coast Road opposite the Vyge Valley Farm Stall. Entrance is access controlled at the main gate. A ranger will be on duty between 08:00 and 17:00 Monday through Sunday to let you in and out. The speed limit in the reserve is 40km/hour. Yzerfontein and Darling are the nearest towns should you need to buy groceries or pop out for a meal. Safety: The Reserve is fenced off and looked after by full-time rangers, and is extremely safe. The sea along this stretch of coastline is not only extremely cold, but also very choppy - for this reason we recommend that you avoid swimming in it. Pets: Regrettably pets are not allowed in the Reserve.
