The space Tucked away just 60 metres from our family home, Allens Cottage feels wonderfully private while offering all the comforts of a modern retreat. Inside, you’ll find two bedrooms: the main with a queen bed, wardrobe, and convenient wall-mounted USB ports beside each table, and a guest room with a single bed, wardrobe, desk, and chair – perfect for a child, an extra guest, or a quiet study nook with a bushland outlook. Both bedrooms have individual wall-mounted electric heaters, and in the cooler months the beds are fitted with electric blankets. Guests can choose from a couple of pillows and duvets of different warmth levels, with all manchester crafted from a breathable Cotton & Lyocell blend. The open-plan living area is designed for relaxation, with a cosy fireplace (wood supplied), recliner, comfortable couch, dining for four, and a TV with Blu-Ray/DVD player and a small library of movies and shows. Large windows fill the space with natural light, while a sliding door opens to a generous deck that’s bathed in sun – the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. Cooking is easy in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full-size fridge, cooktop, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, and a wide selection of utensils. A renovated bathroom features a walk-in shower, while sheer and block-out blinds throughout the cottage ensure comfort and privacy. For added convenience, a laundry includes a Miele washing machine and dryer, laundry tub, iron and small ironing board, plus a clothes airer. We’ve included thoughtful extras to make your stay memorable: reverse-cycle air-conditioning in the main living space, fast Wi-Fi, EV charger ($10/night), Bluetooth speaker, books and magazines, along with a selection of board and card games. Complimentary local treats include fresh eggs from our chickens (when available), Willie Smith’s Organic Apple Cider, Bruny Island honey, Carman’s muesli, Weet-Bix, fresh milk, butter, jam, Vegemite, tea, hot chocolate, and Nespresso coffee pods. Guest access The cottage is set on a little hobby farm, and you’re free to wander as you like: stroll down to the dam, wander through the bush, make your own track, or just sit back and take in the beautiful views. Other things to note Allens Cottage relies entirely on rainwater, thank you for being mindful with your usage. We run an old septic tank system, please don’t flush anything but toilet paper. A small bin is provided for all other items (inc. all types of wipes, sanitary items, etc). The property has open dams which guests with small children need to be mindful of.
