Leave the cottage directly to hike, pedal, fish or discover Saint-Léonard-des-Bois, labeled "Petite Cité de Caractère" or Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, classified among "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". The space Treat yourself to a peaceful stay in this charming country cottage in the heart of the Mancelles Alps. A place unspoiled and conducive to relaxation and exploration as a couple, with friends and family. This thoughtfully renovated home honors healthy and biosourced materials, combining respect for the environment and disconnected modern comforts. The accommodation offers large spaces, including two large bedrooms spread over two levels, one above the other, connected by an open staircase. This arrangement creates a friendly atmosphere and lends itself particularly well to family stays, while involving a little more shared intimacy during an adult stay. Here, no TV or Wi-Fi: a real disconnected experience to slow down and fully enjoy the present moment, as well in the private garden which offers shaded spaces, hammock, sun loungers, barbecue and open views of the hills, or inside for example set up in front of the open view of the Sarthe valley, on the north side, on a large worktop bathed in natural light – perfect for reading, drawing, writing or simply contemplating the landscape and take the time during your stay to discover all the sports, cultural and natural offerings. We appreciate the company of pets, but unfortunately can't accommodate them in the cottage, except for assistance animals. A canine and feline pension is available in the municipality if you want to offer them a suitable accommodation during your stay. Thank you for your understanding. Other things to note A life-size playground for sports and outdoor lovers: From the cottage, explore many hiking trails, including renowned courses such as the GR36, several PRs, the Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostela and the GR of Pays des Alpes Mancelles. Whether you're a casual walker or a seasoned hiker, you'll find various routes, looped or roaming. A few minutes away, Saint-Léonard-des-Bois offers kayak rentals to go down the Sarthe, natural climbing spots and Trail resorts for nature racing enthusiasts. Cyclists will not be left behind: direct access from the cottage to five marked mountain bike trails and to the route of the "Vélobuissonnière", a 250 km bike route connecting Alençon to Saumur, recently ranked among the five most beautiful bike routes in Europe in 2024. And for fishermen, a privileged access to the Toyères fly course awaits you: first category river, whipped fly fishing in "no kill" mode – a spot known for its quality and respect for nature. A region rich in discoveries, nature and heritage: 3 km (or 40 min walk by the GR), discover the village of Saint-Léonard-des-Bois, labeled Petite Cité de Caractère and Station Verte. You will find the Gasseau estate, a lively nature area with tree climbing (6 courses), permaculture vegetable garden, local coffee shop, exhibitions, concerts, climbing, horseback rides, disc golf and interpretive trails. The cottage is also only 3 km from Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, famous for its bucolic charm, art galleries and inspiring landscapes. Also nearby: • Fresnay-sur-Sarthe (15 km), medieval city classified 2nd Preferred Village of the French 2021, with its artisans and its cultural offer. • Alençon (17 km), city of art and history, famous for its UNESCO immaterial heritage lace. • Many flea markets all summer in the surrounding villages for lovers of China and authenticity.
