JUA HOUSE is a Bed & Breakfast located in the middle of the traditional Swahili village Shela on Lamu island. The interior design combines traditional Swahili woodcraft, African style and a touch of modern artistry. Cleanliness, functionality, comfort, beauty and of course the service to the guest are our top targets. There are five double rooms, one single room and a rooftop suite available. The double rooms are all equipped with king size beds. All rooms their own private bathrooms. The space The single room fits a queen size bed and has of course its own bathroom. The bathroom amenities are all organic products. The bed has a comfy mattress and top quality bed linen. A beach basket and beach towels are provided in the room. The breakfast and lounge area supplies a fridge, water heater, tea and coffee. Guest access All our guests have access to our roof top terraces. One terrace features a breakfast, dining and chill-out area. The other one offers a 360 degrees-view over the island, the ocean, the dunes and the neighbor island Manda. The perfect spot for sunbathing, sunset drinks and observing the stars. Each floor provides a comfortable chill-out lounge. During your stay Our staff will help you in any way they can to have a pleasant stay. You find an info sheet in your room about the island, excursions and much more. Other things to note Our JUA HOUSE BAKERY supplies fresh bread for the breakfast and for our 4 oclock coffee/tea & cake time on the rooftop terrace. Granola, Jam and Joghurt are also made in-house and part of our breakfast
