Thrussington is a wonderfully picturesque rural village in the Leicestershire countryside and close to number of popular destinations. Wedding parties: We are 5 minutes drive from Brooksby Hall or 15 minutes drive from Prestwold Hall, both very popular wedding venues. Spa Days: Ragdale Hall, an award winning luxury Spa, just 10 minutes drive from The Cottage, sets us in a prime location for guests visiting for day spa's or longer retreats. Walking, Hiking or Cycling: There are countless opportunities for walking and hiking in the local area, including Bradgate Park or Watermead Country Park. Rutland Water is approximately 30min drive or a decent but manageable cycle for the more energetic guests! Historic Towns: Thrussington is a short drive from the historic city of Leicester with excellent museums including the recently refurbished King Richard III visitor centre and the Jewry Wall Museum of Roman artifacts. Melton Mowbray, home of Stilton Cheese and the famous Pork Pie, is a short drive and is well worth a visit on Market Day, when the town comes alive with the hustle and bustle of the cattle markets! Oakham & the County of Rutland, is approximately a 30min drive and is a charming old English town with lots to do and see!
