Iris Chalet in the Jura

Discover the Jura from Goumois in this charming little cottage that can accommodate up to 6 people (5 beds, 1 floor mattress). Minimalist but fully equipped, Chalet Iris offers you a place of rest that you wanted to spend the quiet weekend, explore the region by hike or bike, taste the famous blue trout of Doubs or visit the Marché Concours in Saignelégier (10 min by car). Also accessible by public transport, you will feel at home, summer and winter! The space Friendly little cottage for a privacy getaway! A large common room on the ground floor where you can access from the door to the terrace. This space includes the kitchen (oven and induction hob, raclette oven and fondue pot), dining table and seating area with wood stove and air conditioning to ensure your comfort indoors. The sofa bed can accommodate 2 people if needed. The bathroom (shower, toilet, sink, washing machine) is accessible via a door next to the kitchen. A slightly steep staircase leads upstairs where the two (connecting) bedrooms are located. A first larger with a large double bed (180 x 200) and a small table with a screen. The second smaller room, with a rather sloping ceiling, has three single beds (90 x 200) as well as two additional single mattresses (90 x 200) to accommodate up to 4 people together, typically children. The entire upper floor is covered with rugs for extra comfort, especially in the winter. The narrow balcony is not accessible at this time. The large terrace allows you to eat outside and the outdoor wood burner opens all possibilities of the BBQ, equipment included. Internet is included, via Starlink. The cottage is about 30 years old and is made entirely of wood, so expect to hear it creak underfoot, with changes in temperature, and in strong winds! Guest access You can use the entire place, treat it like home. The chalet is accessed via concrete steps and there is a steep staircase inside. It is therefore NOT a chalet suitable for people with reduced mobility or very young children (< 3 years old) who could fall down the stairs. In winter the water is turned off between visits to reduce the risk of freezing, it is easily activated from the technical room. Please note the desired number of people. Mandatory regional accommodation and laundry fees are included per additional person. Other things to note The main road that leads to France is used by commuters early in the morning and around 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, and by motorcycles on nice weekends in summer. So sometimes there will be vehicle noise that we can't control. The windows will be changed in summer 2026 to improve interior soundproofing.
