Enjoy the peace and rest of the countryside. The native birds singing in the gum trees, a pristine sky on a clear night. Crackling flames in the firepot, glass of wine in hand as you slow down and relax, at Farmers Rest. The space Farmers Rest is a private, secluded home, where life will pass you by. The home has two comfortable bedrooms, both with Queen size beds, quality linen and large windows overlooking the property. Enjoy views of Mount Roland through the trees, and the occasional cow or horse in neighbouring paddocks. In the living room is a wood fire, there are also two heat pumps throughout the home, for comfort all year round. The kitchen holds everything you may need to prepare a meal, or enjoy a platter and glass of wine on the deck. There is a single toilet, full laundry with amenities, and separate bathroom with shower, bath and vanity. There is a fire pot, and log seating to really enjoy the evening on a still night. The property has steps at both entrances, and is surrounded by uneven surfaces, due to the rural conditions. Farmers Rest is our loved family home, filled with natural light, Tasmanian timber floors, high ceilings, large windows, ample heating and amenities for a peaceful, humble, uninterrupted stay. The property is a five minute drive to the beautiful township of Sheffield, Town of Murals, a 40 minute drive to Cradle Mountain, and only 25 minutes to Devonport, home to the Spirit of Tasmania. Guest access The house sits a top a steep gravel drive, there is adequate parking. We suggest a slow and steady trip up the drive is most effective. The home is completely private. There is a signpost, 'Farmers Rest', at the driveway entrance, look out for the sign, as there are two driveways, the signed driveway is available. Slow down along Nook Road to see the driveway and sign amongst the trees. Guests can access the house via the steep wooden steps onto the verandah. Please note the access isn't suitable for wheelchair users, or others with mobility issues, unfortunately. Families are most welcome, however small children will need to be accompanied at all times. There is a comfortable cot with clean bedding available on request. Enjoy views of Mount Roland through the trees, cows and horses in neighbouring paddocks, possums and wallabies at dusk.
