Enjoy comfort and peace in the picturesque village of Strání, just a few steps from the Slovak border, under the Javořina mountain, ideal for walks, hiking, cycling, or simply relaxing in nature. The space Our home was built in 1926 and has lived through many stories. In the past, it served as a guesthouse, a shop, and even a customs house – and each of those chapters is still part of its spirit. In 2023, we became its new caretakers and gave it a fresh chapter in its life. Now, we invite you to become part of its story, even if just for a short while. It’s not perfect – it has its quirks and the gentle marks of time – but that’s exactly what gives it the charm and character you won’t find in new builds. Being in the countryside means you’ll wake up to the sounds of our “village music” – the morning crow of a rooster, the cheerful clucking of a hen after she’s laid an egg, and the occasional barking of dogs. These little sounds are part of life here, giving it both rhythm and comfort. You’ll find us in a peaceful village where time slows down, and the stories of old walls will quite literally embrace you. Come to rest, explore, and let yourself be carried away by an atmosphere you can hardly find anywhere else. We now offer a garden seating area for our guests, which we are gradually improving. You can use it for relaxing, having a coffee, or enjoying a quiet evening. 🌿 Other things to note Winter Stay We would like to inform you in advance that our house is more than 100 years old and built from stone. For this reason, its indoor temperature behaves differently compared to modern apartments or new buildings – even with the radiators on, the space can feel cooler, and the house does not maintain a perfectly stable temperature throughout the day. During your stay, the radiators are set to provide a basic level of heating, but for comfortable and pleasant warmth, guests need to light the wood-burning stove themselves. The stove can heat up the space quickly and very effectively. We will gladly prepare firewood for you and replenish it anytime during your stay. If you are travelling with small children or are used to a continuously warm indoor environment, please keep this in mind. For the winter season, we have also prepared warm duvets and cozy blankets to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
