The space The gîte is an independent house built into the original barn structure in the mid-20th century. The three luxury ensuite bedrooms (sleeping 6 - two doubles, one master suite) have been recently remodelled taking inspiration from the rich historic decor in the main house. Bold botanicals and warm colours create an enveloping lush stay reflecting the serene nature of the estate. Downstairs, there are two salons and a large kitchen with French doors opening onto a private terrace, ornamental garden and courtyard. The traditional stone building is cool in the summer with a cosy wood burner for when the nights draw in. Extra beds are available on request. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to No4. The property has its own front door into the village as well as side and back doors onto the two courtyards. The south facing back terrace, ornamental garden and courtyard are for the sole use of guests. There is ample free parking through the main side gate to the left of the gite. The front courtyard is a shared space. Guests are welcome to explore the wider grounds at their leisure and private use of the swimming pool can be arranged along with the outdoor bar/bbq area. Other things to note The estate is in the small peaceful village of Brillac with neighbours to one side and rolling countryside to the other. The village boasts its own bakery, small general convenience shop and petrol station as well as a local car mechanics, pharmacy, municipal swimming pool, tennis courts, football field and public library - all within walking distance. It is a perfect spot to venture on walks or bike rides into the surrounding countryside. A car is recommended for exploring the region further. Our nearest town is the picturesque Confolens (15 minutes by car) with shops, supermarkets and an annual international folk festival of music and dance. We are situated around an hour from three cities: Limoges, Poitiers and Angouleme: around 40 minutes from Limoges Airport, and 1 hour 15 from Poitiers both with regular year round flights from London Stansted and seasonal flights from other UK destinations. We are 1 hour from Angouleme with trains to Bordeaux and Paris. The garden can accommodate camping/motor homes and electric car charging can be arranged on request.
