Orchards and meadows on the doorstep. The space Welcome to L’Oûme Lodge, a cosy and versatile retreat set in the grounds of our 200-year-old farmhouse, surrounded by orchards and meadows. Whether you’re working in the area, travelling through the Charente on the N10, visiting family and friends, or seeking a quiet holiday or retreat in nature, the lodge offers warmth, comfort and privacy. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area features a thermostatically controlled pellet burner for chilly evenings, along with a fully equipped kitchen including a gas hob, electric oven and coffee filter machine. Everything is on one level: two bedrooms (one double and one with three singles including a bunk bed), plus a sofa bed for extra flexibility. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, and there’s a separate toilet in the hallway. Outside, enjoy your own gated entrance, private parking beside the lodge, and a private garden and terrace — ideal for unwinding in peace. Guests also have direct access to our meadows, perfect for a gentle stroll or to walk the dog without leaving the grounds. Located just 8 minutes from Mansle for shops and restaurants, and 30 minutes from Angoulême via the N10, the lodge combines rural tranquillity with easy access to local amenities and travel routes. Guest access Guests have full private access to L’Oûme Lodge, a detached property set apart from the main farmhouse, which is situated on the other side of a gated courtyard. Inside, you’ll enjoy the open-plan living area, kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC. Outside, you have your own gated entrance, a large private parking space beside the lodge, and a private garden and terrace. Guests are also welcome to stroll in the adjoining meadows and orchards. The lodge is fully self-contained and all on one level, so you won’t be sharing spaces with anyone else. Other things to note On arrival, we are usually at home, so the door to the gîte will be unlocked with the keys and a welcome pack waiting on the kitchen table. If we cannot be at home, I’ll let you know in advance and arrange to leave the key in the secure key box outside the front door of the gîte. I will send the code to you before your arrival.
