Description

The Snug at Craigsheen Lodge is a cosy, modern suite on the side of our home in the village of Aberfoyle in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. With forests, waterfalls and lochs close by, this is an ideal stop on the way to the Highlands or for a longer stay. The suite includes a king size bedroom (bed can be seperated to two small singles on request) an ensuite shower room, and exclusive use of a sitting room and side entrance. The suite has been recently converted and modernised. The space The suite forms part of our house but is a private space within it. It consists of: A cosy bedroom with zip link king size bed, room darkening curtains, hairdryer and full length mirror. An ensuite shower room with a thermostatic rain shower. A sitting room, which is for your exclusive use, with a sofa, fold out table and chairs, Smart TV, (connected to freeview and streaming apps only) kettle, toaster, fridge (with small freezer shelf), and combi microwave oven. There isn't a full kitchen - there is no hob or oven. The suite is accessed via a side entrance and porch for coats/shoes/wardrobe. This is for your exclusive use with self check-in. Other facilities include WiFi, hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee (milk is also provided), games, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There are two storage drawers under the bed and a wardrobe in the porch area to hang things. Heating is by individually controlled thermostatic electric heaters and heated towel rail in the ensuite. There is parking for up to two cars on our driveway and small outdoor seating areas at the front and side of the house that you can use. Craigsheen Lodge is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Aberfoyle village which has a Co-op, post office, butchers and deli, cafes, two pubs, bike hire, golf club and a variety of shops. There also some good restaurants in the surrounding local area including Nicks and Karma Lake of Menteith. There's a Go Ape zip line, ropes course and axe throwing in the forest park above the village as well as miles of forest tracks for walking, cycling and a red squirrel viewing hide. Located in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, we're 25 minutes drive from Loch Lomond itself, with Loch Ard only 5 minutes drive away (where you can swim or kayak and paddleboard.) There are many activities nearby from safari park, aquarium, farms and castles. Stirling is a 35 minute drive away. There are buses to Glasgow, Stirling and a recently added route to Callander from the village. In the summer months, the Trossachs Explorer bus also runs through the village stopping at local sights such as Loch Katrine, Ben Aan and Ben Venue. Guest access The suite is ground floor, accessed from a side entrance of the house with its own key. There are 3 steps up to the entrance. We only let out the one room so no other guests are present. Other things to note Please note there are animals (a cat and chickens) on the premises so no pets are allowed. The suite forms part of our house so some household noise may be heard but we try to keep this to a minimum and have added soundproofing. The suite is a compact space, particularly the shower room.
