The space A Beautiful cosy character 3 bedroom thatched cottage * Parking on road outside property * Self check-in Approximately 20 minutes drive to the Universal Studio site *Walking distance of beautiful pub/restaurant * Country kitchen with dining table - fully equipped kitchen * Downstairs shower room /WC * Welcoming lounge with settee and 3 armchairs (comfortably seats 5) * 2 double bedrooms and 1 single with office space * Bathroom with roll top bath Front garden with seating area Fully enclosed Back garden with seating area and sun loungers in shed Tea and coffee and milk provided ( semi /full/oat) and a variety of biscuits Guest access Guests can have exclusive use of the cottage - self check-in Early check in from 2pm and late check out until 1pm is available at £20 per hour (subject to availability). Any requests to check in before 2 and check out after 1pm will be charged a full days rate Please note same day bookings are available and the may delay the check in time subject to cleaning and preparation time . In this instance check in will be from 6pm although this may be later depending on availability - any same day check ins please check in with host on time of availability for check in . Other things to note Important booking information and house rules HOUSE RULES As part of the booking process - for insurance and fire safety you will be asked for full names of guests staying at the property - thank you for your understanding. Things to note and house rules :- Height of some areas of the cottage - some of the rooms have low ceilings and beams STRICTLY NO PARTIES permitted DOGS NOT TO BE LEFT ALONE at the property Booking on behalf of your colleagues ? No problem as long as you are using the ‘Airbnb for Work’ system . Otherwise third party booking not permitted (this is an Airbnb rule ) Keeping Buttercup Cottage safe Please help us to look after the cottage : * No smoking or vaping inside *No candles *No bbq (we provide an electric bbq for safe use ) * Please note that the fire in the lounge is electric . Due to the thatched roof we are not able to offer a log burner * *STRICTLY No parties are allowed or loud music alllowed* *Please respect the quiet hours and avoid loud noises due to the cottage being attached to another cottage * (thank you ) • “No illegal substances or cannabis permitted on the property.” Quick history of Bletsoe (Bedfordshire) Origins & Domesday Bletsoe is an ancient Bedfordshire parish mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086). In medieval administrative terms it lay in the hundred of Buckelowe before later being attached to the hundred of Willey. The manor and Bletsoe Castle A fortified manor (often called Bletsoe Castle) stood here from at least the early 14th century after John Pateshull received a licence to crenellate in 1327. The site is a medieval moated manor; earthworks and parts of later (16th–17th century) buildings survive. Pub in Bletsoe (within a few minutes walking distance of the cottage ) The Falcon Inn / The Falcon at Bletsoe Rushden Road, Bletsoe, MK44 1QN Food served - riverside garden - beautiful 17th century pub with riverside garden 🌿 Nature, Parks & Outdoors Harrold-Odell Country Park A substantial country park / local nature reserve between Harrold and Odell, close to Bletsoe. It features lakes, woodland, water meadows, walking paths, wildlife viewing, and is bordered in part by the River Great Ouse. Stevington Windmill A historic windmill (one of Britain’s fine examples of a post mill) which is open to the public, with keys available (for example via the Royal George pub). Priory Country Park Further out but within reach, in Bedford, offering meadows, lakes, riverside walks and wildlife habitat. Wrest Park & Gardens In the Bedfordshire area, a stately home with gardens, parkland, and historic features. The Swiss Garden, Old Warden In the wider region, known for beautifully landscaped gardens.
