Le Chant du Frêne: The Castle Farm

Le Chant du Frêne is a beautiful, old farmhouse with character, typical of Burgundy, very bright, opening onto a very large garden and a meadow surrounded by a hedge. This family home, with an area of 150 m2, in a very quiet setting, is located in a peaceful hamlet and unspoiled countryside (many birds). It's right next to the communal pond. The property is 5 km from the town of Avallon, shops, services, and the highway tollbooth. The space This house is our family vacation home. It is perfect for vacations or for an extended weekend with family or friends. You will appreciate its spaciousness, its authenticity, its calm, its location in the heart of the countryside, and its coolness during the summer heat. The space It consists of - a very large, very bright living room with an area of 55 m2 (living room/living room), with exposed beams as well as a French ceiling. This living room opens onto the garden, where a table and armchairs allow you to enjoy meals on sunny days. - A kitchen equipped with high-quality appliances (refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, induction stovetop, range hood, Electrolux oven, microwave), a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, a blender, a toaster, and all the necessary cooking utensils. A hand towel, a dish towel, a sponge, and cleaning products are available for your use. - Three bedrooms with 160-cm-wide double beds, including two bedrooms on the ground floor and one accessed via a stone staircase, located on the mezzanine level above the kitchen (not suitable for small children). The downstairs bedrooms each feature a sink. The beds are made on arrival. - an independent toilet - A refurbished bathroom in travertine stone, with a walk-in shower and a second toilet. We provide two hand towels per person. Two Wi-Fi (fiber) routers provide coverage for the entire home. The TV offers Canal+ channels, the sports package, and the movie package. A large, regularly mowed garden surrounds the house. It is open to the street at the front and enclosed at the back. It is wooded (large ash tree, fruit trees, hazel trees, etc.). On sunny days, you can have your meals there in the shade of the trees and cook your grilled food on the charcoal barbecue. This garden opens onto a meadow that is mowed once a year by a farmer (the meadow is not part of the rental). This natural area is home to a family of squirrels and a multitude of birds. Activities There are plenty of cultural and nature activities in the area (Avallon, Vézelay, Noyers-sur-Serein, Chablis, Morvan Park, numerous lakes, the Arcy-sur-Cure cave, etc.). Small local roads and trails are ideal for hiking, biking, or mountain biking. Possible activities in the municipality: the GR 213 Vézelay–Fontenay hiking trail, the GRP Tour de l’Avallonnais, and the Via Serein, a 53-kilometer (33-mile) marked cycle route, all pass through the Sauvigny-le-Bois area. Guest access The house is level. Check-in or check-out procedures vary depending on the arrival dates and times: either by the owners, by a person designated by them, or using a lockbox. Parking can be in front of the house, open to the street (no fence) or behind in the garden (space closed by a gate). Other things to note Board games, many books, tourist information, local IGN maps, cycling, mountain biking, and hiking information, binoculars for bird watching, and a list of the birds in our garden are available. No pets allowed.
