With easy parking and scenic walks just a short drive away, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, a peaceful work retreat, or a longer stay surrounded by nature. The space Welcome to your cosy lakeside retreat at Shearsby Valley Lakes, just outside the charming village of Shearsby. Arrive at your own pace with self check-in from 2pm–7pm, and park easily in the private parking behind the cabin. As you step out onto your decking, take a deep breath of the fresh countryside air, enjoy tranquil lake views, and watch local wildlife wandering through the small valley, an idyllic setting to start unwinding immediately. Inside, the cabin is designed for comfort and simplicity. The open-plan bedroom features a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, WiFi, wardrobe, bedside table with lamp, fan, and an electric oil-filled heater to keep the space warm and cosy. The kitchenette is thoughtfully equipped with a microwave, electric hob, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, and all essential cooking equipment and tableware. (Please note: there is no oven.) A separate bathroom includes an electric shower, toilet, sink, and towel rail, with bed linen and towels provided so you can simply arrive and relax. Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee on the decking, spotting wildlife, or exploring scenic walks just a short drive away, this cabin offers the perfect combination of peaceful countryside living and cosy indoor comfort. It’s ideal for a weekend escape, a longer retreat, or a quiet work stay immersed in nature. Experience the calm, the views, and the charm of Shearsby Valley Lakes—your serene countryside hideaway awaits. Guest access During your stay at Shearsby Valley Lakes, you’re welcome to explore the whole site and enjoy its facilities, subject to availability. If you’re an experienced angler, the onsite tackle shop is open Tuesday–Saturday from 8am–5pm and Sunday from 8am–10am, where you can purchase day tickets and get guidance if needed. Please note, guests must bring their own fishing equipment, and the site is best suited to experienced anglers, as we aren’t able to provide beginner instructions on how to fish. Take leisurely walks around the lakes, enjoy the local wildlife, and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Some areas may be temporarily restricted during competitions (usually 9am–4pm), so please check in at the shop before heading out. You’re free to come and go as you please, even outside fishery hours (8:00pm–7:30am). On Mondays, the fishery is closed, but your access to the accommodation and the grounds remains completely unrestricted. Relax, explore, and make the most of this tranquil lakeside setting—it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. Other things to note Things to Do & Local Attractions There are four fishing lakes on the property, which you’re welcome to fish, subject to availability. The lakes contain a variety of fish, and advice on fishing and availability can be found at the onsite tackle shop in the main car park, which is stocked with rods, reels, terminal tackle, and bait. Please note, guests need to bring their own fishing equipment, and the fishery is best suited to experienced anglers. If fishing isn’t your thing, there’s plenty to explore in the surrounding area. With the M1 (Junction 20) just 10 minutes away, you can enjoy adventure activities like tank driving, paintball, go-karting, and golf, or relax with scenic countryside walks, visit local parks and reservoirs, or explore historical sites around Leicestershire.
