Back on after a long term let! Situated in the beautiful and peaceful village of Shouldham, which dates back to 1066, is this idyllic little nest. The village boasts a friendly local pub which is only a five minute walk away and plenty of forest walks can be had in Shouldham Warren which is on the edge of the village. There are a variety of stately homes (including Sandringham) to visit, and Hunstanton, the historic gateway town to the North Norfolk Coast, is not too far away. The space Welcome to Rook’s Nest, a little gem of an apartment situated within the heart of the peaceful village of Shouldham. This is the perfect place to explore the delights Norfolk has to offer you. If you are interested in nature we have the Welney Wetland Trust; Wild Ken HIll (as seen on Springwatch) and Snettisham all a short drive away. For those interested in stately homes we have Sandringham (home to the King and Queen); Houghton Hall and Oxburgh Hall which is a magnificent 13th century moated Manor House. And there are more! For those who like walking there is Shouldham Warren on the edge of our village, the Aboretum and Lynford Lakes at Mundford, or even a walk from Shouldham up to the river Nar by Pentney Abbey. The North Norfolk Coast is accessible and from Moreston Quay you can pre-book a boat trip with Bean’s Boats to see the UK’s largest Grey seal colony. For those of you who want something a little more exhilarating, we are not too far from Snetterton race track ;-) Inside you will find a kitchenette which ,whilst small and without a cooker, does enable you to cook/ reheat food with its microwave and air fryer. Wherever possible, we do like to provide a welcome pack so that at least you do not have to worry about breakfast on your first day! There is also a coffee machine along with tea and hot chocolate and the fridge allows you to cool off those all important lagers and wine ! A generous bedroom encourages you to snuggle up and sleep in wonderful comfort and the wood burner makes it feel extra cosy! All bedlinen is provided for you as well as a bedspread for extra warmth - not that you will need it, we have a lovely warm house! The snug is a lovely, peaceful space over looking the very private courtyard and is the perfect place for a couple to relax with a glass or two of wine and watch a film. WiFi is free and you will be able to access Amazon Prime; Paramount; Netflix; Disney and Apple TV as well as YouTube etc on the 50” television. The well equipped bathroom boasts a super waterfall shower and plenty of hot water - a great way to either start or finish your day. Towels are always provided, including the jumbo towels for those of you who like to really wrap up! As well as off road parking for your car, there is also secure off-road parking for motorcycles and bicycles. We also have an EV charger available upon request for an extra cost. So, while you are here why not enjoy a relaxing walk in the Warren or have a well-deserved drink or meal in the local community-owned pub which is a mere 5 minute walk from us. If you want to venture further afield, Downham Market has lots of lovely little eateries you can visit. We are close to a lot of truly beautiful places, and again, we are only a short drive away from Sandringham if you are of a mind to see the King and Queen or go to one of the many events they hold on the Sandringham Estate.
