Description

Casa Rural "De Barro" Cl. In the middle, 46 19227 Matarrubia (GUADALAJARA) The setting of the house is ideal for hiking or collecting mushrooms and niscalos (very abundant in Matarrubia); the surroundings allow you to draw various and interesting cultural routes to the villages of black architecture or the rural Romanesque of Guadalajara. A very cozy house, and prepared to make your accommodation as desired. The space Casa Rural "De Barro" Cl. In the middle, 46 19227 MATARRUBIA (GUADALAJARA) Matarrubia is located within the Guadalajara Countryside, at the foot of the Serranía foothills. Its territory borders to the north with Puebla de Valles, to the south with Malaguilla, to the east with Puebla de Beleña, and to the west with Villaseca de Uceda and Casa de Uceda. It includes its end three main foothills or small tables, which are the landscapes of La Muela, the Chaparral and the Llano. Both three delineate the topography of the environment, as the villa sits in the valley of the same. Matarrubia has a main water course that passes through the city center, the called "Creek Matarrubia", affluent of the Jarama that in summer is dry but in winter it can have a small constant flow. Belonging during the Middle Ages to the Municipality of Villa and Tierra de Uceda until the time of the Austrians, it was granted the title of Villa by Philip II during his reign, from which it has been an independent villa, reaching its own courts and prison in the sixteenth century, counting at that time around 120 neighbors (approximately 433 inhabitants).7 Matarrubia maintained its villa status from the 16th to 20th century, where in the mid-century it began to be heavily depopulated towards Guadalajara, or even some neighbors immigrated to the south of France or the north of Germany. Currently, the municipality benefits from its proximity to the provincial capital and Madrid, seeing new urban developments that, although very limited, have already attracted a young family to the village, which has led to a dozen children of different ages. Matarrubia has, as a most notable heritage, the parish church of San Bartolomé, a 16th-century factory in limestone and stonework, which is also worth a visit for its height. With a single warehouse on the floor, it consists of a stone vault, which replaces the wooden coffered coffered wood that was lost in a terrifying fire that hit the temple in 1820. In 1908 the church was still in ruins. The parish church also has a sunny clock carved into the stone of one of the counters, where you can read the name of the quarry that recorded it and the date: "Mathias Sanchez, Ano de 1743". In addition, the villa has the highest concentration of centuries-old cork trees in the province of Guadalajara, and one of the largest in Spain. The average approximate age of the corks ranges from 200-300 years. Guest access Entire house.
