Slakkepas #65 = Comfort + Cosy + Sea and Sand

Our little piece of heaven may not be the biggest or boast with superb views, but if you are looking for a cosy getaway with ample space for 8, SKP65 is for you. One of the more roomy units in the Slakkepas Resort, the 4 bedrooms has extra-length beds that will give you a good night’s rest, ready to take on the beach, sightseeing or just chillin on the couch or deck. The secure resort also gives peace of mind for family visitors. NB: adult supervision = always a must at the resort’s shared pool! The space Slakkepas 65 is a thatched-roof self-catering house in a secure complex in Dwarskersbos, located on the beautiful West Coast of South Africa. The property is within walking distance of the beach. SKP65 is one of the more spacious units in the Slakkepas Resort. We offer 4x bedrooms with extra-length double or queen beds (no crouching required to get into bed, promise!) with 4.5x bathrooms (3 of which is en-suite). Three of the bedrooms are located on the ground-level with the fourth bedroom and en-suite on the upper-level. A sliding glass door connects this bedroom with the covered deck, which provides a cosy spot for cocktails, reading those books you never have time for or enjoying that first tranquil coffee of the morning. The kitchen has an electric oven and stove with 4x solid-plate hobs, microwave and fridge-freezer combo, stainless steel kettle and 4-slice toaster as well as all the other odds and ends required for a well-deserved getaway (e.g. BIG wine glasses). The indoor barbecue is just what is needed for those chilly winter days and has a clear view of the wall-mounted 43” television in the living-area (because the braai cannot interfere with our sport, obviously). The sink is flanked by a 12-setting dishwasher and your manual dishwashers can therefore also get a break, unless they are still grounded. The indoor space can be opened to the outdoor patio and barbecue area by a folding glass door. A table and comfortable chairs can seat 8 for a relaxing outdoor meal or just to kuier…there is no English word that can define a good-old kuier, is there? A misting-system is installed to give some respite from a hot summer day; although we do ask guests to use discretion in the use of the misting-system as our beautiful country do experience water shortages from time to time. Because laundry waits for no one, a laundry corner is provided with a washer-dryer combo, ironing board and steam iron. Laundry powder is provided for a few washes, just in case. In addition, a clothesline is available in the yard area at the back of the house. The kitchen has a convenient breakfast area (or the braai’s supporters) for up to 6, in addition to a more formal dining nook that can seat 8. A corner couch and upholstered chair provides cosy seating for at least 7 to watch a movie or just chat the hours away. DSTV’s Premium package is included, because who really wants to pack in their own decoder when going on vacay? One bedroom as well as the open-plan living-dining area has air-conditioners. All bedrooms have good quality white linen and towels provided as well as additional blankets. Hand-lotion, liquid soap and air-freshener come standard in our bathrooms. For now, please just remember to pack your own shampoo and body wash. Towels for the beach is not included at present, but can be supplied on request. Covered parking is available for 1 vehicle with additional space for another vehicle or trailer on site. Further additional parking is available within the secure complex. Guest access All areas listed are for the exclusive use of the booked guests. Only a few locked cupboards and trunks are for our personal use. The complex has a shared swimming pool with games room which can also be used by our SKP65 guests. However, please ensure responsible adult supervision is available at all times and that the complex’s rules are adhered to. Other things to note SKP65 will be cleaned before your arrival and on your departure. However, no cleaning service is included for the duration of your stay. Should you require cleaning services during this time, it can be arranged with our agent at an additional cost, payable to the cleaning service directly. We only supply consumables such as dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and toilet paper on arrival. If it is used up, guests must please acquire for the remainder of their stay. The Western Cape and other provinces in South Africa are going through or have gone through extensive droughts. We therefore request your discretion when using water and to please abide by any restrictions that may be called for by the local municipality from time to time. The conscientious use of electricity is also required as the country’s electricity grid is under strain, especially during hot and cold spells.
