'T Dijkhuisje - In the polder & under the stars

't Dijkhuisje is located in a residential area and on a quiet dike in Driehuizen and is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet and for nature lovers. Fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, projector and two double beds (one of which is on the sleeping loft). Enjoy two private patios, the fire pit/BBQ and swimming jetty within walking distance. Fall asleep at night under the roof window with a view of the stars. Free parking and a charging station are available. The space Welcome to 't Dijkhuisje: a cozy vacation home for 1–4 people on the quiet Kleine Dijk in the North Holland Driehuizen, in the middle of the Eilandspolder nature reserve. The cottage is decorated with care and attention to detail and offers everything for a comfortable stay. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen with an electric hob, Nespresso machine, air fryer, fridge with freezer and various kitchen utensils. Thanks to the air conditioning, you can both cool and heat, making it pleasant to stay in every season. For a cozy evening indoors, the cottage has a projector with projection screen. The house has two double beds: one on the ground floor and one on the sleeping loft. Outside you have your own patio where you can sit privately. In the garden there is a fire pit for cozy evenings and within walking distance of the yard there is a small jetty where you can swim. The vacation home is located on a spacious yard, about 20 meters from a residential house. Its residents are not the owners of 't Dijkhuisje. Each other's privacy is of course respected, so you can enjoy your stay undisturbed.t Dijkhuisje is located in the middle of the Eilandspolder, a protected Natura 2000 area known for its wide views, rich bird population and characteristic Dutch landscape. Here you will experience silence, space and nature as it becomes increasingly rare. Directly from the cottage, you step onto the dike for beautiful hiking and biking routes. The waters around Driehuizen are perfect for sailing, canoeing or paddle boarding. For a day out, several attractive places are nearby, such as the historic village of De Rijp and cheese town Alkmaar (±15–20 minutes drive). The North Holland coast with beaches and dunes near Egmond, Bergen and Castricum can also be reached within about 30 minutes. Amsterdam is about 35–40 minutes away by car. Driehuizen itself is a small, idyllic village where life still proceeds at a quiet pace. No mass tourism, but pure polder life. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to ’t Dijkhuisje and the associated private patio and part of the beautiful garden during their stay. Through the path you can easily walk up the dyke towards the water and the swimming jetty that belongs to the yard. The containers for waste separation are located at the beginning of the path at the bike shed. If we are unable to welcome you in person, we will provide you with the key to the key locker (located next to the front door of ’t Dijkhuisje) shortly before your arrival. Other things to note - Check-in is possible from 3 p.m. Check out is no later than 11:00. - Late check-out is possible in consultation until 1:00 p.m., for a one-time fee of €25. - Smoking is only allowed outside. - One small- to medium-sized dog is welcome in consultation. Please indicate at the time of booking what type of dog you would like to bring. There is an additional charge of €7 per night for this. - There are currently no special facilities available for small children. - A delicious breakfast featuring local products can be booked as an additional option for €13.75 per person. - During your stay, you can use the fire pit/BBQ. This can be used for a fee of €25. You will then receive a basket of firewood or a bag of charcoal, firelighters, and a bag of marshmallows. - When booking, please indicate if you would like to take advantage of this. We are happy to help you choose a meat package from the local butcher. - In the yard, there is a private jetty where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, or mooring your own boat, paddleboard, or canoe. - In consultation, it is possible to charge your electric car using your own charging card. A fee of €0.55 per kWh applies for this. - The house is located in a rural area with lots of wildlife and water nearby. We ask guests to handle this carefully and respect the tranquility of the polder.
