Sneak away to the natural surroundings of Chestnut Valley Farm. 75 minutes south of Chicago, you'll stay in a cute Airstream on 56 acres of nature including a just-getting-started Chestnut Farm. Hike the trails. Bird watch. Do yoga on the deck by Waupecan Creek. Lay in a hammock. Visit the neighboring towns for dining, a brewery and quaint shops. Waupecan Valley is a convenient retreat from the hustle of the city where you can getaway, rejuvenate and reconnect with nature and each other. The space We are a working farm with 56 acres consisting of the future Chestnut orchard, woodland trails and grassy fields. You may see (and hear) us driving the tractor as we get our chores done. Your Airstream is home base for a relaxing stay at a remarkable property only a short drive from Chicago and it's suburbs. There are 16 acres of woodlands with a high diversity of hardwood trees. Waupecan Creek runs the full length of the property. There's a creekside deck where you can hang out in the Adirondack chairs, stretch or do yoga. Our Chestnut Orchard is just getting started. You'll see 102 tree tubes that house and protect the 1-year old trees. In five years, your fall stay will include fresh Chestnuts! :) Guest access You'll have the Airstream camper all to yourself. Feel free to walk through the large farm field and explore the trails we have cut along the creek and ridge that runs along and through the property, respectively. We highly recommend downloading the following two apps: • Picture This - take pictures of plants or trees to find out what they are. • Merlin Bird ID - real time identification of the birds you are hearing. Other things to note Given that we are still close to civilization and are on the way to Starved Rock State Park, you may hear motorcycles rumbling by during the day on summer weekends. There is a 30 foot cliff that you'll want to take care when around! It is at the south west corner of the property overlooking the creek. Please do not cross the creek, as that is our property line.
