Welcome to our private apartment in a peaceful location. We are an easy drive (15 miles) to Athens/UGA, 5 miles from I-85, 2 miles to the closest grocery store, yet your stay here will feel like you've escaped to the country. We live onsite in the main house (the apartment is totally separate), and are available for anything you may need, but respect your privacy. Just reach out if we can assist! Please be sure to read all house rules prior to booking. The space We live on 2.4 acres and are beekeepers. We are constantly working to plant something new to support our favorite pollinators, honey bees of course! This is a roomy upstairs apartment/addition to our garage. Everything is virtually brand new. **Please note: there are 18 steps total to reach the apartment.** Kitchen/eating area: - Well stocked with dishes, silverware, cookware, serving utensils, etc. - Keurig and pods; insulated French press; tea kettle Bathroom: - Towels, washcloths, make up remover cloths - Soap and shampoo/conditioner - Hairdryer (There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom, however it is not connected yet. We will update the listing once it is ready to go!) Bedroom/sitting area: - King size bed with high thread count sheets. -Two-way light switch, so you can turn on the overhead light as you enter, and then turn it off from the bedside. - Sofa with chaise - pulls out into an full-size bed. - Roku Smart TV - Recliner - High speed fiber internet (1 Gig). Guest access You have private access to the entire apartment as well as the large deck. You're welcome to walk down to the fire pit area, but please stay on the path. There is a nice lake view, but the lake is not ours. Please do not walk past the fire pit area. Other things to note We do live in the main house, so you may hear the garage door opening and closing, or our washing machine spinning, etc. We have a dog, our old lady black lab, who stays inside most of the time. You may encounter her if we've let her out to potty, but she is super friendly. Her name is Leia and loves to be pet! We are beekeepers, so we have hives in the back of our property. You will see them if you choose to walk the path down to the fire pit, which you are welcome to do. Please just don't walk near the hives. Generally, if you leave the bees alone, they'll leave you alone. If you have any questions about the bees, we'd love to share about them.
