Licence # HG-994 When you drive to Saebol, you turn off the main road (driving in south Gemslufallsheidi or north/west from Thingeyri) at a road sign which says 'Nupur' among other farm names. The road from the main road leads you by Hotel Númi and a few farms until you get the feeling that you have lost your way, but do not despair, for it leads indeed to this beautiful valley named Ingjaldssandur. And that is the beauty of this place, it remind you about the wilderness, though only a 40 min drive from the nearby villages (Isafjord, Flateyri and Thingeyri). You drive as far as you can drive on that specific road until you reach Saebol. When you are at Saebol it takes less than five minutes to walk to the beach, which is beautiful and in the summer (June / July) you can sit there and watch the sun dancing on the ocean around midnight. Many people agree that this place has the most gorgeous sunset in Iceland. Guests have access to kitchen and their bedrooms , 1 wc, 1 shower, washer machine and drier. Saebol has the most beautiful surroundings. Everything is so fresh and rich, the air, the wilderness/isolation, the vegetation, crow- and blueberries in autumn, the mountains, the beach, the river, the sunset. It is common to see the arctic fox list by or seals playing in the ocean. You get the feeling of the good old Icelandic times. There are a few "deserted" farms in the valley, that are now used as summer houses. Getting around: You need a car to get to Saebol. The last part of the road (from the farm Alvidra) is original Icelandic gravel road from 1956 so drive carefully. Other things to Note! It is important to remember groceries (to buy food to take with you to Saebol) it takes 45 min to drive to the next village. The cellular phone (GSM) is not very strong in this area but by putting the phone in the kitchen window you can talk on speaker.
