The Hollies is a large and charming 200-year-old farmhouse next door to the quiet village pub in South Kilworth. Located in the heart of England, just 3 miles from Junction 20 of the M1, South Kilworth is the perfect centre of England stop-off on any long journey between the south & north of England. Six huge double bedrooms, 4 of which are triples, one is a family room with a large double bed and a bunk bed for 2, and a standard double. So 12 beds and the ability to sleep a total of 18 people. The space The Hollies is full of character and period charm. You will have access to all of the facilities you need for a great self catering holiday - as well as the six huge double and triple bedrooms, two with private en-suite bathrooms, there is a massive country kitchen, a second offshot kitchen, a breakfast/dining room, a large sitting room, several loos and a huge family bathroom. The garden is around half an acre with mature trees and a large lawn. There is a raised patio area which has plenty of seating, the fire pit (basic kindling provided) and the hot tub (extra charge applies – speak to the owners) There is a beautiful courtyard shaded by a massive magnolia tree, and an old brick built outbuilding which houses a wonderful undercover barbecue area with a huge table for guests, overlooking the grounds. There is parking for at least five vehicles in the secure and private visitors parking area which is accessed by the driveway to the right hand side of the house. NOT the pub carpark next door! Guest access There are six massive double bedrooms – the master bedroom has its own private bathroom with a basin, toilet, shower cubicle, and a lovely old rolltop bath. We have recently completed a luxury private en-suite bathroom to room 3 - the largest of the 2nd floor bedrooms, so now there are two bedrooms with their own private bathrooms. There is also a very large family bathroom, and two further toilets. There is a snug area with a sofa at the top of the house which is where the Internet router is housed – this makes a nice relaxing area to use your iPad, laptop, etc, to check your emails. Downstairs, there is a lovely breakfast room, sitting room, a huge country kitchen, a second kitchen and a back door out to the courtyard, barbecue area, and grounds. There is a dishwasher and all the crockery and cutlery, pots and pans etc that you will need for catering for a large group. Other things to note We don't have any paraphernalia at all for babies or young tots, I'm afraid – sorry! (High chairs, cots, changing mats, etc). Please feel free to bring your own. There are several lovely walks which start at the Hollies, and they can be as long or as short as you like! They involve going down to the Grand Union canal, and you can do a circle walk through the next village, Welford, and perhaps stopping for lunch at the Wharf Inn there, or various options to shorten the walk – the full one is about six hours! I We can explain in more detail when we see you. The garden here isn't really suitable for children kicking balls around as it's surrounded by flowerbeds! But there is a great play area in the village – literally just 200 metres away! There is a zip wire, a big area for playing football, and the usual playground stuff – slides and roundabouts. It's a great place for children to let off steam!
