The Cabin - Jonskørstølen

This is an old and uniq cabin that was build in 1900. For several years it was used in the summer by milkmaids that had their animals up there. A cabin with soul! Without electricity the cabin is simple- you will get a resting heartrate pretty fast. The cabin is 1100m above sea level and have an untouched and spectacular nature around with several fishingwaters. Since the area is private there are no marked trails around but the possibilities for hiking is endless. Welcome to the mountains! The space The cabin consists of a hallway, livingroom, kitchen, kitchenette and a bedroom. To be an older cabin, the cabin is pretty spacious and the room are exploited well. Outside it is an area with benches and a table made out of stone. The bedroom consist of 5 beds; one doublebed, a singlebed and two shorter beds as you can se in the photos. The bedroom is upgraded with new, longer and more comfortable beds with new mattresses. Its an old and uniq bed in the livingroom that you also can sleep in. The cabin does not have water inside or electricity. We therefor have a gas-stove and a gas-refrigirator. Its also made a place under the cellarhatch you can store food and beverages in. We have made a water-tap right outside the cabin - fresh and good mountainwater! The toilet is located right beside the cabin in the old barn. Around the cabin you can often se sheep and reindeer wandering around in the mountainarea. Its also several fishwaters in different walkingdistances from the cabin that you can fish in. In some of the waters you need a fishinglicense, but this is something we can help you with. The hiking-possibilities are endless and we have made a map, that you will find inside the cabin, of our favorite-trips. What most people have said when they have visited this cabin is: "Its so calm and peaceful up there!" And this is true. Its not a hectic cabin-area at all and its a big chance you have the hole mountain-area to your self. Guest access You will have the hole cabin to your self througout the hole stay. Other things to note Boardgames, cards, books and yatzi is on the cabin. Ga/propane is included in the price. It is severale candles up there that you can use as you want. Firewood is in the barn that is also included in the price. We also have bedlinen, small towels and handsoap that you can use.
