Helle Gard - Farmhouse near the fjord

The house is situated on a farm at Helle in a beautiful scenery at Førdefjorden. It has an amazing view to the fjord and the majestic snow top mountain with a glacier. It lies close to the fjord and a beach. Great place for hiking, fishing and relaxation in a rural retreat. Nearest supermarked is in Naustdal, 12 km from the cabin, and a local cafe/shop/museum is 10 min away. Free WiFi. Motorboat for rent (summer season). Self service farm shop. Farm animals. The space Old traditional Norwegian house with modern amenities. Here you can relax and enjoy the silence in front of the fireplace after a long day exploring. The house is totally renovated in 2019/2020 and we have used a traditional style to get the "charming farmhouse" atmosphere. We have also kept some of the old timber walls that have been cut on the farm. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. All the beds are new and very comfy. There's one bedroom on the 1st floor and three on the 2nd floor. The bedrooms on the 2nd floor are connected, so you have to walk through one or two bedrooms to go downstairs. There's floor heating in the hallways and the bathroom. Helle has a lot of hiking areas nearby and great fishing opportunities. There is a good salmon-river in Naustdal called Nausta. You can fish trouts in a mountain lake (Vonavatnet) into the valley of Naustdal with a fishing license. We have an old summer farm in the mountains where you can fish trouts for free. Sunnfjord has a lot mountains, rivers, waterfalls, glaciers and scenic routes. I have collected some maps and info of things to do in the area in a guidebook, in the cabin. FARM SHOP You’re welcome in our self service farm shop where you can purchase fresh eggs from our free range hens and ducks, wood, wool products, etc. We do also sell meat from our own grassfed cattle and sheep. They are an old Norwegian, endangered breed. You're welcome to meet them :) RENTALS: - Motorboat 6hp (available during summer season) - Fishing rods, lures - Telescope fishing rods easy to bring to the mountain lake. - Snowshoes Boat and canoe rentals at Vonavatnet and Svoa in Naustdal. WINTER SEASON You can do cross country and downhill skiing nearby. We have snowshoes for rent, and there are marked paths in the area. Not available in the calendar? Check out my other cabins in my profile! :) #hellegard Other things to note Remember to pack an "all-weather"-jacket and good hiking shoes! During the winter season the weather varies a bit. It's a good possibility that there's snow and degrees below zero, but all the rental cars in Norway are equipped with winter tires in this season, and the roads gets plowed. Have respect for the weather and drive safe.
