La Casita is minutes from the Rio Grande, rafting, fishing, bird watching, biking, & hiking. Nearby: horseback rides, Ojo Caliente Hot Springs and O'Keefe country. The space After a busy day of exploration enjoy a meal cooked in our fully equipped kitchen with dining area or relax in front of a fire in the living room or on the private patio overlooking the orchard. The rural mountain village of Dixon (6200 ft.) is home to many artists and crafts people, and is internationally known for the annual Dixon Studio Tour held the first weekend in November. Located 25 miles south of Taos and 60 miles north of Santa Fe, along the Rio Embudo near the confluence of the Rio Grande. A 2-hour drive to/from the Albuquerque Airport. Guest access The Guesthouse is a separate fully-equipped living space all your own. Please respect privacy of my nearby home and weaving studio. Directions: Take Highway 75 into Dixon - 2.2 miles to La Chiripada winery sign (Rd 1119) and turn left. Follow drive for .1 mile to La Casita Guesthouse sign. Other things to note A small library includes books about local history and culture by several well-known local authors, as well as a nice collection of DVD's for your viewing pleasure. I try to keep a selection of local maps and guides to help you plan your stay.
