Blending vintage character with modern comfort, the space offers private suites alongside welcoming community areas created for rest, creativity, connection, and a slower, more intentional pace. Each guest enjoys a private suite and access to the shared Gumption Lounge—a relaxed gathering space with seating areas, workspace options, a beverage bar, snacks, and room to unwind after a day of travel, work, or exploration. During your stay, you may encounter other guests, remote workers, wellness practitioners, or small gatherings within the shared spaces. Some guests come simply for a peaceful night’s rest, while others linger a little longer to recharge, connect, or enjoy the unique atmosphere Gumption has become known for. While each suite is private and quiet, the lounge and common areas are shared intentionally and respectfully. Whether you’re here to rest deeply, stay productive, or simply enjoy the charm of small-town Nebraska, Gumption offers a calm and welcoming environment that feels both grounded and inspiring. For larger gatherings, guests also have the option of renting all three suites together along with the shared upstairs spaces for a more private group experience, retreat, family gathering, or special event. During your stay We live right here in town and work in the building, so we’re usually nearby if you need anything during your stay. We’re happy to help with questions, recommendations, or anything that might make your visit more comfortable. We also have adult children nearby who occasionally assist with the property and guest needs, so someone is generally available if needed—while still giving guests plenty of space and privacy to enjoy their stay. Other things to note Gumption Suites was intentionally designed as a shared, multipurpose space—more like a boutique inn or small community gathering place than a completely private apartment rental. Guests rent private suites while sharing access to the Gumption Lounge and common areas, and from time to time you may encounter other guests enjoying coffee, relaxing, working remotely, or simply passing through during their stay. Many guests have genuinely enjoyed meeting new people and sharing conversation in the lounge. Because Gumption is also part of a larger wellness and community ecosystem, there may occasionally be daytime activity in the shared spaces. For example, someone may be waiting for a massage or healing arts appointment, I may be quietly working in the lounge myself, or another guest may be using the common area during the day. Any community or wellness-related use is limited to daytime hours—generally between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM—and we always do our best to keep guests informed if anyone else will be in the space.
