Description

The Bolthole in Strangford is a small cosy home located in one of Northern Ireland's beautiful coastal villages. The house dating from the early 1800's, with a later extension, has living, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and bathroom. There are great views across Strangford Lough to the coastal village of Portaferry. Strangford village is a great location near historic houses, castles and the Mourne mountains. It has great restaurants, pubs and perfect for Game of Thrones enthusiasts. The space The Bolthole makes a great location for people wanting to relax and feel 'away from it all' while staying in a quiet village and being within walking distance of the coast and great places for eating and drinking. Whilst the house is small, it is comfortable and cosy, ideal for two people having a bedroom each, a family or a couple plus one though two couples, at a squeeze! Given the property is almost 200 hundred years old, the ceilings are high and facing east/west means there is plenty of early morning and late evening light. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer and cutlery/crockery. The dining area is comfortable for four people and there is outside space at the front and an enclosed area back of the house. The two bedrooms have comfortable beds, drawers and wardrobe space, one room has a double bed and the other a queen bed. The stairs are open and the bathroom, situated on the upstairs landing, has an electric shower, wash basin and toilet. Bedding, towels, shower gel and shampoo are all provided. The house makes an ideal space for people who like to walk, bird watch, draw/paint, write, read and generally relax. There is information about the local attractions, history of the area and events taking place while you are staying. There are also a selection of board games and books for the guests use. The house has Wifi and deliberately no TV! Guest access Guests have the total use of the house, I am contactable by phone/email and I hope to meet guests who stay for a week or longer. Other things to note The village of Strangford is quiet on the whole and whilst recently more used to the influx of tourists, particularly Game of Thrones fans, it is peaceful and I would ask guests to respect this. The house is in a terrace with neighbours on each side and I expect guests to be fairly quiet in the evenings and considerate to neighbours and local people.
