Holiday home for the whole family in a small idyllic fishing village on Nordre Seiland Island. Spectacular nature, between the world's northernmost glacier and the urban Arctic city of Hammerfest, with reindeer. Magical views from the blue cabin for a photo enthusiast, with the midnight sun coloring the mountain wall and the sea. The host lives right next to the blue cabin and is available for questions or a ride. We offer Sami experience activities, such as storytelling around the campfire in the lavvu, with joik and reindeer, and local food. Welcome The space If you want to experience fjord, mountains, fishing and nature, you will find all of this in the land of the midnight sun. There is room for a family or a group of friends. With 1 double bed and 2 sofa beds including bed linen, there are 6 sleeping places. Bathroom with shower and washing machine and toilet with sink. Parking for 1 car at the cabin. Bicycles can be rented. Local shop is 1 km away. Bus and ferry run several times a day to the city of Hammerfest. Peaceful neighbors on the upper side of the cabin. Access to wood for burning a fire inside the cabin in the wood stove/fireplace, and wood bag can be purchased from the host for NOK 120. Guest access Naturen rundt / The nature around Other things to note We speak several languages, Finnish, English, Sami, Norwegian and a little Russian. In the blue cabin there is fast internet/wifi. Here it is close to fishing waters in the mountains. See suggestions for hiking trails on the map inside the cabin, to open hiking huts. Marked trails go to fishing waters and to Seiland National Park. The island has 2 glaciers, and those who want to go there must have extremely good training, and consult with locals, in the store and with reindeer owners. When hunting, ask the reindeer owners where it is not allowed to hunt, if there are reindeer gatherings in the autumn. Boats can be rented from the neighboring tourism operator. The host can offer Sami experience activities for the whole family, in a lavvu, about reindeer, joik and storytelling around the campfire. We also offer wellness for our guests, nature therapy treatments such as massage and foot sonotherapy. For emergency medical assistance call 113, and to the island an ambulance boat can come from Hammerfest, 20 minutes away. There is also a heart starter in the store. In the store there is both health care, exhibition about Seiland National Park and food and fuel, fishing equipment both for sale and rent. If you also want to visit the neighboring island of Sørøya, then a speedboat from the city goes there Ferry from the city/Akkarfjord and here to Seiland takes 10 minutes, and then 20 km by bus/car here to Hønseby and Skakkebakken where the blue cabin is.
