Note that this is NOT a good place for wild or late night parties. It is located on a quiet lake not far from neighbors who appreciate the quiet beauty of the rural area. Cultural Activities -- Near Lakeville, CT: Within a few miles of Lakeville, CT are features that include Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Tri-Arts Sharon Playhouse, Music Mountain, Norfolk Festival, Railroad Days, excellent restaurants, and lovely NW CT countryside. We are five miles from the Appalachian Trail and many other hiking options. Lake Wononscopomuc is cool and clean all summer. It drops to 180 ft within 250 yards of our shore. Kayak, canoes and a sailboat supplied. Sports: Sports include all low speed water sports -- no water skiing. Fishing is excellent for Lake trout, bass, pickerel, perch, and catfish. Many other lakes streams and ponds in the area. The Hotchkiss School Golf course is about 300 yards away and other nearby and publicly available courses are in Sharon, Amenia and North Canaan. Tennis is available at town courts a mile away. Horse-back riding is nearby. Lots of hiking opportunities.
