Description
Have a memorable visit to Matlock, staying with the resident family at Ruatha Hold, this extraordinary, converted Victorian Hydrotherapy Spa building. Overlooking the town, with stunning views and close to Peak District National Park and beauties such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Ruatha Hold makes a fabulous base for walkers and history buffs as well as those simply wanting to enjoy the treats of Matlock itself. The space A beautiful double room with TV, drink-making facilities and use of a private bath/shower room and off street parking. In addition, there are the shared facilities of an active household. These include a kitchen, laundry, snug with board games, books and records, lounge area with TV, log burner and stunning views, courtyard garden and main garden, with seating areas in both. The bedroom and bath/shower room will be cleaned to a high standard prior to arrival, with drinks, towels and toiletries provided. The house itself will also be cleaned but you will be staying in an active, lived-in home. As such, if you are looking for a spotless, hotel-standard deep clean throughout, please do not book with us. Please note food will NOT be supplied but guests have full access to the kitchen and its facilities. There are also drink-making facilities and coffee/tea and biscuits in the bedroom. Thank you. Guest access The house can be accessed from the car parking area off Cavendish Rd (side door) and from the Wellington Street (front door). Clear directions will be sent prior to arrival. Please be aware that there are many steps as this beautiful home is built on a hill. During your stay Airbnb app or in person Other things to note The house is located just 0.9km from Matlock town centre. However this distance involves 100m of elevation. There are regular buses, 63 and 157, that stop within a few metres of the house for those who do not want to take on the challenge of climbing up the hill! The bus stop is on Bank Road, opposite Sourdough Dave's. Taxis can be found at the bus station near the M&S Food store. There are two good local pubs within a few minutes walk of the house, two more approximately 5 minutes walk away. Sometimes food choice and cooking times are restricted but you will find lots of choice in the town centre. Please note food will NOT be supplied but guests have full access to the kitchen and its facilities. There are also drink-making facilities and coffee/tea and biscuits in the bedroom. This house is unusual in it's internal layout. Please note that there are many stairs both into the house and within it. Well-behaved, supervised dogs are welcome however any hygiene-related incidents are to be dealt with by the owner. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the bed or various sofas.
