Upstairs, Master bedroom with King sized bed has a view onto the back garden. Masterbath has mirrors over two sinks, bidet/toilet, glassed-in marble shower and opens into large closet. A sunny studio and a second bedroom are reached at the opposite end of the upstairs hall. Though separate spaces, they are joined by a mirrored double-sink bath and a separate shower/tub/toilet area. The quiet studio overlooks the front yard and busy street. There is a desk and chair, a leather easy chair but no bed in the studio. The second bedroom overlooks the backyard and has a single twin-sized bed, closet, dresser, night stand and is carpeted—not appropriate for children under twelve. In-house washer and dryer open off of the kitchen hall and half bath. Ironing board and iron is available. For longer stays, housekeeping service every other Wednesday is included in pricing. Utilities included. Housecleaning included for longer stays. No shoes in the house please! We expect guests will be careful of the beautiful marble and wood surfaces in the home. We supply coasters and placemats to protect these surfaces and to avoid expensive repair costs. Please note: the kitchen sink disposal is very quiet. If you forget to switch it off it may trigger the safety and you will have to re-set it by pushing the switch on the bottom of the disposal. Please note there is an outdoor kitchen that is available for use for an additional $100. to cover cleaning, propane and power usage. You must inform us if you choose to use it. One of the attractions of this house is that it is located on a piece of property that is a kind of oasis in the middle of the city—part garden and part field. It is a fenced common area shared by 11 homeowners. We are visited from time to time by many different types of birds, sometimes raccoons and opossums, and squirrels are omnipresent. There are a couple of cats in the neighborhood that visit once in awhile as well as a neighbor with a dog, usually off leash. This common area is shared with 11 homeowners so you can expect to see people occasionally pass by on the pathway behind the house. The neighbors are all friends and we share the common back lawn area. We have raised beds in the field that if watered when we are gone gets shared with the neighbors and you can partake as well. Watering of this space is not guaranteed. Because of the field nearby we also host spiders and ants. They are generally not a problem, are monitored by the housekeeper, and guests must take care about leaving food and sweets out. If the temperature gets high the ants tend to come to the house. We have had the yard surrounding the home treated by an ant expert which should hold off most of them but also leave little ant traps around corners to catch those who venture in. We are able to deal with this remotely if it becomes a problem.
