The space The house is over 200 years old and is a listed building. Not many people know that many of the houses on the Erzgebirge ridge were thatched, the last three in the village until the end of the 1970s. In 1980, the thatched roof was re-thatched. This means that the bedrooms remain pleasantly cool even in the hottest summer heat. Guest access In principle, you have access to all areas of the house, but you will be less interested in places like the attic or storage rooms. Other things to note Additional costs: The electricity price is generally calculated separately at 40 cents per kWh. Billing is based on actual consumption, i.e. a joint meter reading is taken at the beginning and end of your stay. Guest tax adults €1.60/day and children €1.35/day is charged by the city of Altenberg and must be paid in cash or by bank transfer upon arrival. Pets cost a one-off fee of €25. Bed linen and towels must be brought with you, but can be booked separately (1 set of bed linen and towels €12.50). Barbecue: It is not necessary to clean the barbecue after use, only beforehand if necessary. Please bring your own charcoal and lighters. The barbecue area is by the birch tree on the path. Due to the extremely high risk of fire for our thatched roof, we ask our guests to pay attention to the direction and strength of the wind and to set up the barbecue a little further away if necessary. Fire pit: We have set up a fire bowl on our lawn by the creek, please leave it there. Firewood is available on the property. Please make sure to put out a watering can or bucket of water to extinguish any burning branches that have fallen down. Do not light a fire in dry weather, as the lawn could catch fire and the fire could spread to the house.
