Description
Authentic Finnish summer cottage far away in the depth of the wilderness. It's a log cabin on the shore of Lake Kuusamojärvi. You can do fishing, picking berries and mushrooms or just enjoy the nature. A rowboat is available and in summer there is solar power to charge your mobile. The space It is a 28 m² (300 sqft) log cabin (with a rowboat) on the shore of Lake Kuusamojärvi. The cabin sleeps four + one child and there are two extra beds in storage for two more people. Guest access There is no road to the cabin. Nearest parking is across the lake 150 m from the cabin. Access to the cabin is by the rowboat, walking over lake ice or around the bay. Other things to note Please note that there is only limited solar electricity and no running water in the cabin. You can take water from the lake (or melt snow) to drink and boil it if you prefer (or bring bottled) and swim in the lake and bathe in the sauna. Note for the winter: This is a summer cottage. It won't be too warm and cosy in the winter (Nov-Apr). If you want to drive close to the cabin it might be possible to get the road plowed free of snow for an extra fee. If not, the best access will be on skis 1.5 km (1.0 mi) from the nearest road across frozen lakes. In early and late winter (roughly early November and early May) there are times when the ice is too thin to walk upon but too thick to allow the boat to be used. Those times the only way to reach the cabin is to walk 600 meters (0.5 mi) through the woods. In the coldest time of the year I can only recommend staying here if you have experience in the arctic winter.
