Lakeside house

For nature lovers who love it quiet and rustic. Attention: The house does not have running water! Please read the complete description. Quietly located in western Värmland near the Norwegian border. Meadows, forests, water - no big city noise, just pure nature for families with children, anglers and all those who want to completely switch off. 75 cozy square meters plus 1.5 acres of garden on the lake await you. The space The space The house has three cozy bedrooms in the attic (attention: relatively steep stairs), a living room with a small oven and a kitchen with an old kitchen stove in which you can bake your own bread. Firewood is available. In the garden you can harvest wild raspberries, roam the surrounding forests and collect mushrooms, fish on the lake or just enjoy the view of the lake. Rowboat and canoe can be used. The lake shore is quite overgrown and the bottom near the shore is quite muddy. However, boarding by boat is easily possible and, depending on the water level, takes place via the jetty or directly from the shore. You can also swim in the lake, but the entry is more for the hardy and you should be prepared to sink deep. In the surrounding area, however, there are great swimming spots with rocks, footbridges and even a sandy beach (e.g. bathing beach in Fågelvik). The kitchen is well equipped, there are two electric hotplates and a historic stove that is fired with wood. Two large water canisters and a pull-out sink. Enough dishes and various kitchen utensils. You will only look for running water in vain with us! There is a well whose water you can use for washing and washing dishes. Also suitable for coffee or tea, but then definitely boil well. There is usually enough water in it so that you can use the hand pump. In dry summers or when there were many guests in the house, it can happen that you have to resort to a bucket on the rope, because the water level is too low. Clear drinking water can be found at every gas station and otherwise of course in the supermarket. The organic dry toilet with bark meal is in the house (no stinking outhouse with flies and mosquitoes outside!). It is hygienic and easy to handle and is simply emptied by you on the compost. No chemicals. This house is a self-catering house where you have to take care of a few things yourself (dishes, water, toilet cleaning, bed covers). That's why we offer it here relatively cheaply compared to other properties in the area. For us, the charm of the house lies precisely in this, and we ourselves and numerous guests have spent many beautiful vacations here. If you can't handle it or don't feel like doing such things on vacation, this house may not be suitable for you. The house is located in the countryside and there are animals here. Sometimes it rustles, for example, in the roof when mice go for a walk there. Other large and small animals also come by. We have already had foxes and elk in the garden. There is also an old badger lodge, but we have not met the residents yet. Neighboring cats or dogs have also paid us visits. If you can't handle it or are afraid of certain animals, you should look for another place to stay. If you don't have a problem with this, you can have a very nice time here and discover great things. Guest access Guest access You have the entire place and property to yourself during your stay. Friendly and peaceful neighbors live right next door, but they are shielded by trees and shrubs. The neighbor on the other side is 400 m away. The highway is about 60 m away. Other things to note Other important information: Please note that this is a self-catering house, which means: Please bring your own bed linen and towels. There is no washing machine. There is no running water in the house. Water must be fetched from the well (30 m). Some groceries are in the kitchen (spices, oil, etc.). Please make yourself at home, but be careful with the furnishings. If something breaks, please let us know so we can take care of it. Before you leave: please leave everything as you found it: swept clean; compost toilet emptied, clean and covered with bark meal; you have to dispose of garbage at the garbage dump a few km away (Återvinning Central).
