The old house "Geiteyjarströnd" 4 by Lake Mývatn

Experience the closeness to Lake Mývatn, with its amazing bird life, and wild nature. Rent a house with history in the walls, and a garden of 1.3 acres by the shoreline of Lake Mývatn with great view. The space Geiteyjarströnd 4 is an old farm, built around 1930. The house is close to Lake Myvatn. It has 2 living rooms, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a laundry room. From 1930 until 1970 farmers lived in the house. With a cowshed downstairs and an apartment on the 1 st floor. In the 70's, the house was modernized as a family home. The family of 4 lived in the house until 2010. From 2016 the house has been used as a rental property in the sommer, and as a resort for my family in the winter. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house except for the attic, garage and a small room in the cellar. In addition, there is access to the beautiful garden surrounding the house. Other things to note There is a lot of wildlife in and around Lake Myvatn. In the garden there are lot of birds. We ask the guests to pay attention to the birds and remember, they need peace, especially during the breeding season.
