Description
Cozy old bungalow near great restaurants, breweries, farmers' market. Walk to Mt. Tabor Park. Close to the airport, light rail, and bus routes. Secluded with lush vegetation. Front and backyard outdoor seating. Low-carbon-footprint house with recycling and food composting. One owner; I travel a lot for work. I have a cute short-haired cat, Luigi, who can be home, or away, as you wish. Warning: steep attic steps to upstairs bedroom, sturdy hand railing. Upstairs level is 600 sq ft. The space This listing is for my guest (twin) bedroom, and two other spare beds (full sofa and twin folding mattress) in two other rooms, and the rest of the house *except* the main bedroom, which has my stuff in the closets. Upstairs twin bedroom and reading room are adjacent rooms in the former attic. Guest has the entire upstairs + closet + drawers. Warning: steep steps! Also: old plumbing is sensitive beneath the house; only single-ply toilet paper can be flushed. No wipes can be flushed. Windows are old, so some general street noise can be heard. Mellow neighborhood but not dead quiet. Fans provided. Towels provided. Laundry machines in basement. House heat should be turned off at night; Portland is generally not very cold. Down comforters & plenty of extra blankets provided as well as several different pillows (ergonomic foam, feather). No pets allowed. Guest access Private upstairs, one bathroom, bathtub, laundry machines in the basement. (Laundry 1x per week max pls.) Ample street parking. There is a small tent encampment in the church lot two blocks down the street which is mellow and typical throughout urban Portland with the recent housing crisis. Harmless shepherd dogs next door bark a bit when people walk by; they are fenced in. They don't bark after dark. Fairly quiet neighborhood but not silent. Other things to note Smoking anything that makes carbon smoke is ok on the front porch or in the back; there are ashtrays at both spots. Vaping inside is a-ok. Oregon is cannabis-friendly.
