Perfect Cornish Cottage Retreat - private garden
Description
Relax at our beautiful cottage. A two minute walk from the village square of St Keverne on the Lizard Peninsula, the cottage offers plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their break: a large kitchen diner overlooking a private, secure garden and two further living spaces - with a wood-burner, toy cupboard and workspace! We’re new to Air B and B but not to hosting: we shifted from VRBO last season - with over 70 highly positive reviews. We look forward to welcoming you to Primrose Cottage. The space Primrose Cottage is a semi-detached, three bedroom, 2 bathroom property: with downstairs shower room and upstairs family bathroom. With 2 living rooms and a large kitchen diner it offers a flexible base for extended family. It’s a very short walk (1 minute) from the village square of St Keverne, with its two pubs, butchers, restaurant and general store. So you don’t have to drive anywhere to have a meal or leisurely evening drink in the village square, or at Roskilly’s only 10 minutes stroll away. The property is completely double-glazed and centrally heated, with a light, spacious kitchen diner looking out over the large wrap around garden, making it an ideal house for all seasons. We have recently added a workstation (desk and monitor to use with your own laptop) in the quiet second sitting room for home-working use. This space also works well for families with children and teens - with space for them to watch the second TV or play with the large toy collection stored there. Towels are provided as are tea-towels, bath mats and hand towels in the two bathrooms. Just remember to bring beach towels! The Cottage is set back from the road and provides a relaxing, peaceful setting for a holiday on the Lizard Peninsula. There is on road parking and several free car parks extremely close to the cottage. Please note - sorry we do not accept pets. St Keverne is a working village with lots of local entertainment and attractions - including the St Keverne Band (brass) which plays frequently in the village on summers' evenings - you'll probably hear them practicing in the village hall close to the cottage! The cottage is ideal for families and children as the garden is secure and enclosed - making it suitable for little ones. A high chair and travel cot can be supplied & the main bedroom has plenty of space for the travel cot. The village of St Keverne lies on the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula just 1.25 miles inland with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. It lies within Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From Primrose Cottage, you can explore the spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic cliff walks along the South West Coastal path, very close to the cottage. The Lizard Peninsula in summer 2026 features local festivals, live music, and outdoor adventures, including the Witchball Beer & Cider Festival (Aug 7–9), the Lizard Sea Shanty Festival (Sept 4–6), and the Lizard Hoedown (July 4). Ideal for water sport enthusiasts, the Lizard Coast is the perfect place to scuba diving or kayak. Just a 15 minute drive is the Helford River, with its fantastic sailing and fishing - and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. Further afield visit Falmouth with one of the largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and take time to visit The National Maritime Museum. West Cornwall is also an ideal destination for anyone with an interest in arts and crafts with the highlights of the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, and the Minack Theatre together with outstanding local galleries and artists' workshops everywhere, showcasing Cornwall's vibrant art scene. There are a host of National Trust and historic properties and gardens to explore in West Cornwall, including Trebah, Bonython, Lamorran, and Trelissick. Don't forget to visit St Michael's Mount and nearby Marazion with its stunning beach and surfing. Other nearby attractions include Goonhilly, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Trelowarren, Roskilly's and the local diving school at Porthkerris.
