This lovely and very silent private island is just perfect place for people and pets to calm down and find yourself in middle of the nature. In this island there is no other cottages, just yours. The lake Niemijärvi is located in central Finland and the wild nature around is privately owned. There is plenty of possibilities to experience Finnish forests, mushrooms, berries and wildlife. The space In the cottage there is 2 bedrooms and balcony, living room with kitchen. Cottage size is 40m2. Lights and refrigerator are powered with solar power. Sauna is traditional Finnish wood burning and nice "löyly" (mild steam) place where you may relax and warm yourself up if you like swimming in lake. At the island there is a summer kitchen with gas stove, wood storage and ecologic outdoor toilet. Guest access There is 2 rowing boats in your private use. Parking place is located in the mainland and there is room for 2 cars. The distance from parking place to boat is 20m, boat trip to island is 400 meters, about 5-10 minutes. You can also rent a electric outboard motor from us. Other things to note While you are having your holiday here you will probably need certain equipment: Rain equipment like rubber boots, rain coat and trousers Food which does not need to be stored in cooler, the refrigerator is working with solar power, it's capacity is very limited for mainly dairy products. It is recommended to have some experience about using rowing boat (not very difficult though) There is ecological outdoor toilet in a separate building. Rent includes whole island, boats, firewood and all taxes. There is no electricity, indoor toilet or shower. Bed linen, towels or final cleaning are not included to the price, but those are possible to order separately for extra fee. Mobile phones are having limited usability, usually phones work OK outdoor. For phone charging there is a 12V car adapter, you will need a car charger with you. COTTAGE GENERAL EQUIPMENT The 40 m2 log cabin has a living room / kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and a loft. The rent includes firewood and 2 row boats. BEDROOMS The cottage has 2 bedrooms. One has a 140 cm wide double and the other has a 160 cm wide double bed. If you need linen and towels, you can rent them separately for 15 e / person / stay. COOKING The cottage has a modest kitchen with wood burning stove and dishes for six. You can also prepare food on the gas stove in the summer kitchen. The water comes from the lake, which is suitable for washing dishes. Drinking water can be obtained from a well on the mainland near the parking lot. Please note that the solar panel refrigerator is small and only holds a small amount of food and drink at a time. Therefore, it is good to have dry food and camp food. SAUNA, BATHROOM AND WC The cottage has an eco-friendly, composting outdoor toilet. A wood-fired log sauna on the beach gives a nice steam called "Löyly" in Finnish. There is no shower in the sauna or cabin. The sauna water heats up in a separate wood operated heating stove. Bathing is done in a sauna, which is traditionally done with mixed hot and cold water in basins. Sand has been added to the bottom of the lake in front of the shore sauna, so it is nice to take a dip. YARD AND BEACH We have wanted to keep the place as natural as possible. The lake is naturally dark watered and great for both swimming and fishing. Rowing boats take you to the peaceful Niemijärvi. We can provide you with boating vests if you wish - please let us know what size you need. FISHING If you want to fish and you are 18-64, you must pay the state fisheries management fee. Example prices: 6e / 1 day, 15e / 7 day. The most convenient way to make a payment is through the Eräluvat permissions online store. You can also rent a quiet electric outboard motor from us for 15e a day. PETS Pets are welcome at this cabin! Please let us know when you make your reservation. Be sure to clean the animal's hair from the cottage and furniture before leaving and clean the yard of debris. Make sure that pets do not cause harm. LINEN AND CLEANING FEES Bed linen and towels if needed 15 e / person / stay. Final cleaning on request 90 e. FINAL CLEANING You can pre-order final cleaning or during your stay. The final cleaning costs 90 €. If you do the cleaning yourself, the cottage has the necessary cleaning tools and supplies. Clean up only on departure day! However, if you order a final cleaning, do this: • Wash the dishes • Collect bottles and cans in bags • move furniture to original places • Take away the groceries you bring with you • If you have pets, clean the hair and clean the litter If you do the final cleaning yourself, do the following in addition to the above: • shake / pull the carpets outside • wipe the floor with a damp mop • wipe the tables and tops with a damp cloth • ventilate bedding outdoors • wash the toilet and sauna • Take the garbage to a waste disposal site • Make sure that the place is ok for next guest to arrive
