Historic charm meets modern comfort—perfect for your next escape. Welcome to Cherry Hill Schoolhouse—an 1898 one-room schoolhouse meticulously reimagined as a cozy, modern escape. Original bead-board walls and a vaulted ceiling meet all-new comforts: a full kitchen, comfy family room with electric fireplace and TV, HVAC mini-splits, washer/dryer, and thoughtful touches for couples, friends, or small families. Outside, relax on the back porch, slip into the hot tub (open year-round), or gather around the Solo Stove at the fire-pit area. When adventure calls, you’re moments from Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive, the Appalachian Trail, Shenandoah River activities, and acclaimed wineries and cideries. Return to a peaceful, private yard where the night sky still puts on a show. The Space Bedrooms (2): • Primary: king bed, side tables, clothing rack & shelves • Second room: adult-rated twin bunks + luggage rack (pack-n-play stored here) Bathroom (1): walk-in shower, vanity, toilet (no tub) Kitchen/Dining: full eat-in kitchen, table seating for 4 (bench + chairs), highchair available (utility area) Living: sofa with 2 electric recliners, 2 chairs, TV, electric fireplace, open to kitchen Laundry: full-size front-load washer & dryer Climate: efficient mini-split HVAC systems Outdoors: back porch seating, Solo Stove fire pit w/ Adirondack chairs, year-round hot tub (4-person) Parking: 2 spaces maximum Guests enjoy the entire home and outdoor areas, including the hot tub (year-round). Prior to arrival, we’ll send a quick online liability waiver for hot tub use (no extra fee). Access is via a rural gravel/dirt road; standard vehicles are fine in normal weather. The schoolhouse sits at the top of a quiet dirt lane, reached by 1–4 miles of gravel/dirt road (depending on direction). Standard cars handle it fine in normal weather—just take it slow. Parking: 2 spaces maximum, right by the house. Nearby drives: • 🚙 10–15 min → Shenandoah National Park / Skyline Drive • 🍷 5–15 min → Local wineries & cideries • 🌊 10–15 min → Shenandoah River outfitters (kayaking, tubing, fishing) • 🛍 15 min → Front Royal for dining, shopping & supplies Rural mountain road: Expect 1–4 miles of gravel/dirt depending on approach. Drive slowly; conditions can change with weather. Hot tub: Open year-round; please shower before use, no glass nearby, and replace cover after. Children: Must be within arm’s reach at the hot tub and supervised at all times around the hot tub and fire pit. Nature: This is the countryside—occasional insects/critters are possible despite regular maintenance. Occupancy & parking: Best for up to 5 guests; max 2 vehicles. Historic property: Floor plan was reconfigured from a one-room schoolhouse to add private sleeping spaces and a bathroom—unique, cozy, and efficient. Quiet hours 10pm–7am; no parties or events. Registered guests only; max 2 vehicles. No smoking or vaping indoors. No glass in/near the pool or hot tub; plastic only. Children must be supervised at all times; no unsupervised use of pool, deck, hot tub, or fire pit. Waiver required for pool/hot tub use (simple online form before arrival).
