Set on 10 private acres near the heart of the Gorge, this cabin gives you that tucked-away mountain feeling while keeping hiking, climbing, kayaking, restaurants, and local adventures within easy reach. Spend your mornings sipping coffee on the covered deck, your afternoons exploring the area, and your evenings soaking in the private hot tub while the mountain views settle in around you. After dark, gather around the massive outdoor firepit for s’mores, stories, and the kind of starry cabin nights guests come to Kentucky for. This is a great cabin for groups who want to spend time together, cook together, relax together, and enjoy the outdoors. Fresh linens and towels are provided, along with an Essential Starter Pack to help you get settled in. Starter supplies include toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, laundry pods, trash bags, and a fresh sponge. Firewood and charcoal are not provided. We recommend purchasing both locally for convenience and to help prevent the spread of invasive species. 🌄 Outdoor Living 🌄 Outdoor living is where Furnace Mountain Retreat shines. The cabin also sits on 10 private acres with space to explore and enjoy the peaceful wooded surroundings. 📍 Location, Location, Location! 📍 The cabin is located in Stanton, KY, approximately 18 miles from the main Gorge areas. This gives you a peaceful mountain setting with private acreage, ridgeline views, and a scenic drive into the Gorge when it’s time for adventure. You may be a little farther from the main attractions, but you’re still super close to convenience! Our place gives you peaceful mountain privacy while keeping groceries, restaurants, and quick stops about 5 miles down the road. Kroger, Save A Lot, McDonald’s, Hardee’s, Arby’s, Long John Silver’s, Mi Finca, Bruen’s Restaurant, and Mr. Ed’s Hot Dog Stand are all nearby for easy meals, supplies, and last-minute essentials. Guests will travel along Highway 213, a winding mountain road, before turning onto Darrell Randall Road, a narrow one-lane blacktop country road leading to the cabin. Please drive slowly, use caution around curves, and be mindful of possible oncoming traffic. The cabin is located up a steep hill. 4WD is required during winter weather and strongly recommended during snow and ice. Our house is easily accessible by 2WD during regular weather conditions. The property has a wrap-around driveway. Guests bringing trailers should use extra caution due to the winding mountain road and narrow one-lane country road leading to the cabin. 🐾 Pet Policy 🐾 Pets are not permitted at Furnace Mountain Retreat. 📝 Additional Policies + Important Information 📝 Check-in: 4:00 PM | Check-out: 10:00 AM. No smoking inside the cabin. Smoking is permitted outside only. No events, parties, or large gatherings. Early check-in or late check-out must be approved and may result in additional charges. Additional fees and taxes may apply. Photo ID may be required at check-in. 🚫 Cancellations 🚫 Cancellations made 30 or more days before arrival are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made 15–29 days before arrival are eligible for a 50% refund of the total reservation amount. Cancellations made 14 days or fewer before arrival are non-refundable. Holiday bookings are non-refundable. No refunds are provided due to inclement weather. Trip insurance is available during booking for added protection. For cancellations that qualify for a full or 50% refund, guests may choose to reschedule to alternative available dates instead of receiving a monetary refund. Rescheduled reservations are subject to availability and current rates. ⚠️ Mountain Stay Notice Furnace Mountain Retreat is located in a wooded mountain setting, so guests may experience normal nature-related conditions such as wildlife, insects, changing weather, or occasional service interruptions. We always do our best to assist quickly if anything comes up during your stay, but some conditions related to weather, terrain, utilities, or nature may be outside of management’s control and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
