Mountain views outside. Room to gather inside. The Ridge brings the mountain landscape into a whole-house stay: vineyard slopes in view, Lake Casitas below and the Pacific beyond. Set at 2,800 feet on a 40-acre estate, this two-story Mediterranean-style villa has four bedrooms and room for up to ten overnight guests. The appeal is not only the outlook. A kitchen for shared meals, generous living spaces, four patios and an outdoor hot tub make the house somewhere to enjoy being together. Walk or bike on Sulphur Mountain, arrange a tasting at the nearby estate vineyard, then come back for dinner with your group. Downtown Ojai is approximately 35 minutes away by mountain road. Tastings, private chefs and other optional services are booked separately. Gather around something good The kitchen is equipped for cooking at home, with a Viking range, cookware, dishes and pantry basics. Choose your morning ritual: Nespresso, drip coffee or French press. Bring groceries for your stay, then decide whether tonight calls for a shared cooking project or something simple. Outside, a dining table seats twelve beside the gas grill. Four bedrooms, up to ten guests Terrace Master Suite — king bed. The primary bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, a fireplace and views across the vineyard toward the ocean. The spacious bathroom includes a walk-in shower and an indoor jacuzzi tub. Courtyard Queen Bedroom — queen bed. On the first floor, this room faces the mountain and entry courtyard. A full bathroom is next door. Upstairs Loft Bedroom — king bed. A generous upstairs room with a seating area and a desk for anyone who needs a little work time. It shares the upstairs shower bathroom and separate water closet with the Ocean Twin Room. Ocean Twin Room — two twin beds. An upstairs, ocean-facing room for friends or family members sharing. It uses the same upstairs bathroom facilities as the Loft Bedroom. Living room — queen sofa bed. Additional sleeping space brings the maximum overnight capacity to ten. This is in a shared living area, not a fifth bedroom. The house has three bathrooms plus a separate water closet, all stocked with fresh towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer. Spend more of the day outside Four patios offer different places to sit, read and eat. Walk the private half-mile loop around the house, relax in the outdoor hot tub, or simply watch the light move across the hills. For a longer hike or bike ride, explore the public Sulphur Mountain route outside the estate. Bring your own bike, choose an appropriate route and follow designated paths and private-property signs. The neighboring vineyard and private land are not unrestricted recreation areas. Practical comforts Starlink Wi-Fi, a smart TV for your own streaming accounts, central heating and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, cotton bed linens, and extra pillows and blankets help make the house comfortable for a longer stay.. Four outdoor patio heaters are available, and the home has three indoor fireplaces. Follow the house instructions and any seasonal fire restrictions. There is no fire pit, and open flames and fireworks are not permitted. Families and pets Children are welcome. A crib, high chair, baby bath, children’s dishware and toys are provided. Please review the family guide: there are no stair safety gates, the hot tub has no gate or lock, and children need supervision around patios and uneven terrain. Up to two dogs or cats are welcome with prior approval and a pet fee. The property is gated but not fully fenced; keep pets leashed outdoors. Arranged separately Wine tastings, private chefs, yoga, massage, florists, photographers and any approved event or special setup. Availability, fees and arrangements are separate from the accommodation booking. Before you choose your dates The mountain road is narrow, mostly paved, and includes a short unpaved stretch. Standard passenger cars can reach the house in normal weather. Arrive in daylight where possible and use our detailed directions rather than relying only on GPS. During heavier rain, a vehicle with higher clearance or four-wheel drive may be more comfortable for the final stretch. The villa sits within a gated mountain area accessed through two private gates: the first into the residential ridge area, limited to residents and authorized renters, and the second into the 40-acre estate itself. Access details are sent before arrival. A private helipad is available for guests arriving by air with advance coordination. Evenings are very dark and services are not nearby. Wildlife is part of the setting, so keep doors and garage areas closed when not in use. Check-in is from 4:00 PM; check-out is by 11:00 AM. Ask in advance about any change to those times.
