Palapa Lulu; charming rooftop studio by the beach

Palapa Lulu is a charming studio on the 3rd level of our boutique triplex, Casa Bahía. We are centrally located in Punta de Mita and just around the block to swimmable beaches, multiple surf breaks, seasonal whale watching, the Marietas Islands as well as fantastic restaurants & shopping. This is a great “glamping” style space fitted with all the amenities for solo travelers, family and friends, surfers, digital nomads and people that enjoy a friendly Mexican pueblo. The space A fully gated and secure property within a block to stores, restaurants, fresh seafood, and three blocks from the bus stop which will take you north to Sayulita- San Pancho and south to Puerto Vallarta and the towns in between. This studio is unique in that is has been built with a traditional palm thatched roof called a palapa. It is well equipped for up three guests and has everything you will need for a comfortable stay- new pillow top mattresses with cotton linens, kitchenette including coffee maker, purified water, small fridge, electric stove, toaster oven and complimentary margarita bar. There is a private bathroom and shower equipped with on-demand hot water. The floors are all tiled and floor fans are provided which keep the space fresh and cool (please note there is no air conditioning). The sundeck which encompasses the other half of the studio is perfect for lounging in the hammock, enjoying some yoga, coffee time or al fresco dining in the evening. There is fiber optic WiFi and mesh boosters throughout the whole property which have been proven to be very reliable. The studio is also equipped with laptop friendly table and chairs for working online. Our guests now have exclusive day-pass access to the beachfront pool at Hotel Mesón de Mita, a 5 minute walk from the casa! The pool is open from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm daily and the cost per person is $200 pesos/day. PLEASE NOTE: The majority of our guests find this studio very charming but it is not a rental for everyone, particularly if you have young children who may be disturbed by noises while sleeping. Guest access Guests have access to bbq, hammocks, and garden areas. Other things to note With any palapa structure, this “glamping” like space is somewhat open-air and as we live in a traditional Mexican pueblo, which is still considerably rural, you will inevitably hear the neighborhood sounds including roosters, dogs barking, kids playing, horses, construction, occasional fiestas as well as vendors selling their various goods. PLEASE NOTE: We live in a friendly safe neighborhood and although there are no late night bars or loud traffic there are chickens, roosters and dogs in the neighborhood of which we do not have any part of or control over. We are kind and caring hosts but cannot make México not México for our guests therefore if you are sensitive to noise or are expecting total quiet please be aware this will not be the best rental option for you. We keep our prices budget friendly for adventurous travelers to experience the full range of what Punta de Mita has to offer although we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb or a 3rd party as our stated cancellation policy will be adhered to.
